Wednesday November 9th - Cold, Dark, Gloomy
Oh, the weather! I guess that can apply to so many things this week. We are approaching Kaamos - the polar winter night, when the sun doesn't really rise above the horizon until the end of January. Thankfully, it isn't as dramatic here in the southern part of the country, but we still have less than 8 hours of sunlight daily now. It matches my mood... I know Jolly goes through this, but I am learning that the older you get, the less Vitamin D helps. Odd, but even at this time of year, there is a year-long waiting list for mental health services. So, I guess I am on my own.
As to the US... I feel for you. I hope everyone possible voted (I did register and apply to vote, but never received my absentee ballot. I am guessing my county doesn't do overseas except for military). No matter what the outcome, please work with it. If you don't like the results, you can elect someone new the next time, hopefully. Back to slinging porn.

Morning...
Rough day yesterday - in a bad funk. Hoping today is better. I did vote Dems across the board, but I haven't looked to see who won |

Morning.
Woke up to a migraine this morning which has happened in a while. Feeling better now. I'm at my desk today except if my BIL's car is ready then I have to head up to the dealership. It's funny Pagan, I can't wait for the fall and winter when there is no pollen. It's my favourite time of year. Have a good one. |

I love watching the snow fall, and the quiet stillness of winter. I love the way the snow sparkles in the sun like thousands of tiny diamonds. I just hate the short days. Summer drives me crazy because the days are so very long. The pollen rarely bothers me anymore. When I moved here 11 years ago (!), the usual antihistamines are simply not available without prescription, and even then the doctors don't like to prescribe them. You don't see anything in the grocery stores/convenience stores for allergies or colds, and there is very little available over the counter at the pharmacies. It took me about 6 months of agony, but I finally got used to not taking that stuff daily. I might get a runny nose during birch pollen season in May, but it doesn't last and we do have birch trees all over the place here.

That's what she said

Good Evening
Just came back from Oslo and my sorta-grandson & family, but the main reason for traveling in was to give my nephew a present and a hug, he turned 29 today. A lot of people says he is the spitting image of me, in more than just the looks. Poor guy Quote:
It's weird too because I simply love both dark nights and cold weather (not wind). Still this is what has made my winters increasingly difficult. But, as I said, so far, so good. Take care Jlly |
