How to put banners into a WP header???
I'm trying to embed a banner/or banners into my wordpress header and I can't seem to do it without completely screwing up the header itself, or the banner just doesn't align correctly. I've tried searching for a way to do this and can't find anything. Can anyone point me in the right direction or feel like explaining how this is done?
For reference, this is the blog I'm trying to do this on Skinny Teen. I'm trying to put the banner into the empty space on the right side. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, it's driving me nuts! |

Oh no, I'm sweating like Roger Ebert

A lot of playing around with your CSS to figure out why it blows up when you put a banner in.

Can I make it work by just adding the banner into the header.php and just modifying the CSS or do I actually need to define it as a div tag in the css?

Ok, thanks I'll try it out. I'm working on a new blog and decided to build the theme from scratch to get a little more used to working with php and style sheets. With that site I just tweaked a theme I found, but building one from the ground up is helping a lot and once I get a better grasp on it I'll go back and do this. I may go back and redesign the theme for this blog completely some day, but the thought of that makes me kind of nervous right now lol.

Thanks man! I'll give it a shot. I kind of put it on the back burner for now cause I've been busy with other projects, but I still would like to stick a banner in there

The code may vary depending on the template - I use a table on one template, li tag on another, background image on another and div tags on some. As Walrus says - look at the code on the header and play around. On one of my templates, I wanted to make the header taller - got it to work in FF right away - took me a few days to find the css code that fixed it in IE. Se sure to check the blog in all browsers after tweaking the layout or css. I still tend to throw a div or a table in and see what it does and reverse engineer from there.

Yeah, checking it in all browsers is the part that fucks me over every time. Internet Explorer just needs to fucking die already.

Hell - on my machine IE dies all the time - that's why I use FF most of the time.

lol. If only the rest of the world would smarten up maybe Microsoft would just give up on it.
Of course, that may be a bad thing cause then they'll just fucking buy Firefox for 44 billion and fuck that up too =/ |
