onMouse overs for links
I'd like to get the opinion or more so the rule on "onMouse over" for links. Is it OK to use them to mask the affiliate code url, as long as they still show what web site they will be visiting? Or is this totally taboo and a "blacklist" offense?
Thanks J-

Mousovers are ok as far as I know as long as you only hide the affiliate code. Make sure you don't hide where the link is going and you should be fine.
BTW, I stopped using them a while back because I couldn't see any difference in clicks to sponsors with them or without. |

I've been doing it the way you mentioned in your first post for years and never had any problems with it. I only use them on freesites never on galleries.

I noticed the other day that the latest IE under XP doesn't show mouseover code. Safari also does not show mouseover code. Firefox does but I had to turn that on first so I guess it is off by default.

I think mouseovers are going the way of consoles and dinosaurs.

I noticed that IE7 shows the aff code the other day when I was working on a new site, I decided to go with redirects to conceal it. I imagine it’s been introduced in response to phishing and other crap like that.
