Tips on Converting Twistys?
My blog site has been around since mid-January and in that time I've sent a lot of traffic to TwistysCash.com - which fits nicely into the main "theme" and look of our site BTW, part of why we chose them as an affiliate - and we're only converting at 1:2058.
Does anyone have any tips for increasing conversions with this program? I really like all they have to offer - Treat of the Month, their banners, free content, FHG, etc. and just wonder what we're doing wrong OR maybe if the site just has a lower conversion ratio than other sites. Thank you for any advice you can give. |

That is one of the best looking blogs that I have ever seen
1:2000+ seems high to me are you getting better results with AEBN and MrSkin? Where are your Surfers coming from (search engines. trades)? It's a damn fine looking blog I bet your getting a shit load of bookmarkers

Wow - thank you! *blush*
Other sponsors are doing well... I guess I just "expected" Twistys to do better and maybe I need to try something new. AEBN wasn't performing until I got some insider tips from Gonzo and now it's doing very well. Mr Skin - 1 sign-up awhile back but nothing since. I've been looking around Greenguy&Jim for some new sponsors. I just added a few fresh banners into the mix yesterday so will be checking them out and comparing how they perform. My traffic is really layered... part SE, part blog community stuff (like technorati, etc.), part trades/directory listings and in the past 30-days I started doing free sites to feed the blog after reading an article by KevinG. It was one of those "duh" moments that made me realize I had been missing out on a great traffic source. This blog is a team effort - I have 2 other partners, we all play various roles in making it work. This is one of those "someday we'll do our own project" things and we're having a blast. Thanks so much for the input - while we aren't newbies, this is definitely new territory! |

Sometimes certain sites just won't convert with certain traffic, it's life. I'll mention this thread to one of the Twisty's guys and maybe they can give you some advice.

The only thing I can suggest is to check out GreenGuys Stats to get a guestimate of sites that are converting for him and that might work for you guys
Building some Free Sites is a good idea

Thanks Ramster! Like I said, I really like Twistys' stuff and was really hoping it would convert better - they have such great content that works well with our blog... but that would be great to get some tips from their guys!
And thank you T-Pat I totally forgot about the Greenguy Stats - I will check them out right now. |

Hey awlwebmistress, Ramster sent me the thread and so i reply, i will say a few things first, one we count and display uniques first page first hit on our site, not after a click "qualified" this will sometimes get you an inflated ratio, however I didn't see your affiliate code and as such don't know how much traffic you have sent over what period of time.
Tips for a few different scenarios, 1) you've sent a ton of traffic and are still 1:2k well at this point I would say try changing up the links to go to specific girl pages when possible. 2) test out a different tour, (i know these are all the old same old same old ideas but i have to say them otherwise I am not covering my bases) 3) try tailoring your blog surroundings to pre-sell the end site not just get as many ads as possible, setting up contextual pre-sale ads with a personal appeal will most likely get you better conversions, (doing this does two things it does decrease your conversions but it most likely will reduce the amount of traffic going to the tour. 4) pre-sale the tour, send the traffic to a landing page and sell the fact that we update with 5 sets a day very day. Our best converting affiliates all harp on the updates and the insidetwistys.com style ads, really showing the site. 5) as a totally off topic piece make sure you compare it to other no-trial sites Twistys.com doesn't offer trial memberships so that for sure will raise your conversions against a site that does have trials but what you are expecting is an increase in retention. and finally hit me up either here or on ICQ and i can work with you, if none of this works I will list any and all sites that I think might work better on your traffic.

I too expected much more from Twisty's. Like awlwebmistress said, I also love the program, the content, banners, etc. They have great affiliate support. After my first couple of sales though (from free sites), I haven't had a single sign up in months.
Good luck finding what works awlwebmistress and hopefully you'll get some sign ups soon. |

I've had difficulty converting Twistys on my fetishwear TGP's. In fact I have difficulty converting all "pornstar" stars sites. However, when I do make the occassional sale, they rebill and rebill and rebill.

Thank you Michael - that is a good point about Twistys being "no trial" and I will definitely take that into consideration when compared to other programs.
I was doing the pre-sell thing awhile back but it wasn't paying off for me... I think what others were saying here just might be right - it just doesn't work with my current traffic. However... I'm not giving up - everyone here agrees, you guys have GREAT content to use in blogs and as a webmaster I can see that your design and photography standards are a LOT higher than what we see on many other sites. Now that I'm building free sites, perhaps I will focus my attention on Twistys as a pre-sell opportunity using the sponsor content on free sites to push the program rather than the banner I currently have coupled with weekly postings of Twistys Treats and other new content sets. Thank you - you've inspired me to try something new. |

Using Greenguy's stats to pick sites that might convert for you is a lot better than just picking random sponsors and sites, or do you think Greenguy is just wasting his time posting his stats. If you were referring to my saying I thought building some free sites was a good idea. I still do and last of all I have great respect for what Greenie has done with Link-O-Rama but I would never describe it as classy

In fact, it was everyone pointing to the success of Link-O-Rama years ago that made me realize that the bare-bones type sites can sometimes sell the best. If I could only learn to ignore that designer inside of me that keeps yelling for me to "pretty it up." LMAO |

You have some good articles below, which many surfers never see because they click on some banner in the header, and then close the sponsor site they have landed on. Try to tease the surfer with your great content. Instead of header put up a top ten list of links to your best posts. You'll get some bookmarkers that way. You should check out "sugasm" and submit articles like "What Do Women Want in the Bedroom?". You'll get some good links to your blog that way. Just some suggestions from me - not really an expert on blogs... |

We do really well for our people/affiliates who promote the "babe" aspect over the "pornstar" or "teen" so my suggestion with a blog, is if you are going to promote us (and many blog guys do just because of our 4 custom post feed updates each day) make sure its on a blog focused to that genre/niche. My feeling is yours is a little more general in appearance and I might try pushing sponsors that are a little harder. And if you do need anything else feel free to hit me up, since I have been an active affiliate myself since 1997 and reasonably successful at it. So feel free to ask me anything.

No problem for me for Eva the best promo you can do right now is push her to pornstarslikeitbig.com over at juggcash that site converts pornstar traffic pretty damn well.

I added a mini-promo to Eva on my main blog page and no shit, about 30 minutes later I'd already sold a Big Boob Pass membership through those links. Thanks SO MUCH for the tip! Working on those Twistys "babe" focused galleries too - can't wait to see how they perform. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense that the babe niche will work better. |

Are you sure you're an accredited and honored pornographer?

I think this is the best advice ... Twisty's are "babes" Try this for a while and see if it picks up.
