My Bank Sucks :)
I have had 2 accounts with them for 3 years. And in that 3 years, only one check deposited, bounced. Never was there any other problem until yesterday when I received this...
"It would be in the best interest of all parties involved if our relationship were terminated. As such, your account will be closed on June 19, 2006. Please write no more checks on these accounts, and make deposits only to cover any outstanding items. Any balance remaining in your accounts as of the close of business on June 19th will be remitted to you. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated Respectfully yours, The Guys Name VP - Security" That's it, no explanation and it arrived yesterday when I couldn't find out anything. It's a good thing I got tired of this shitty small town bank with online technology that is about 10 years ago and opened up a few new accounts at Bank of America a couple of months ago. But, it still doesn't stop me from wondering why. |

You can now put whatever you want in this space :)

Have you checked to make sure your account info isnt being used for something else.. like maybe someone is writting bad checks on your account?
Lately around here many banks have asked clients to go in and change their bank cards and pin numbers because apparently a local store has been found to be selling this information.. and its a big chain store. I was also called by my bank to change my card because I used it at an atm where a video camera was setup to record my pin number. Good thing there is more than just one bank to chose from Wonder if they are putting a mark on your credit rating? |

I keep a really close eye on my accounts. Since their online banking really does suck, I use their telephone banking.
I am wondering about the credit rating too. I guess I will find out everything they are willing to tell me tomorrow. I think they are just trying to find a way to get rid of me. They started putting a 2 week hold on all my out of the US checks about a month ago. None of it makes any sense. Of course, I don't see how they can make much money from me. Once an account hits several thousand dollars, I take it out in cash I learned long ago not to trust banks. When I was running Ultracash, I could see overnight loans my bank was making with my money. They would pull out between $500,000 and $1,000,000 each night and put it back around 6AM. When I asked about it they told me it helped make my checking accounts free. |

I can't stand my bank. I have been with them for 15 years with the same account. Never once rubbered a check and have paid off 3 loans with them all over 10k. Don't use their online banking other then to look over my statement and balance the check book. Which I might add is always off because of the times they post to the web. 12 noon? WTF is that. Anyway long story short, let the wife on the account to write checks (MISTAKE) bounced a check. They wanted to charge me $50 for the bounce and another 50$ for covering one of my checks. I hit the roof, got a manager in the local branch and yelled so everyone could here. I took my wife off the account and was filling out the paperwork to close all my accounts with them when the manger decided to wave all the fines. I stayed like an ass. Once I get into the new house I'm changing banks. They just suck. With interest rates I sometimes think it's better to keep it in the safe in the house and just use cash for everything.
Jim I understand about the credit rating thing and If I were you I would head over to check your fico online. www.myfico.com I used them before I bought the house. I buy one every year and always find a problem on it. My score is very high and has been so for 15 years. But there was a time when I was revolving debt and that hurt me 20 points. I went nuts and fixed it the next 6. I would not care why the bank no longer wants to do business, fuck em. But check that fico.. |

Are you sure this is the Sci-Fi Convention? It's full of nerds!

have you guys ever tried a local credit union? their bylaws are different from a traditional bank and they are more in tune with the swiss in terms of taking your money and asking few questions.
I have never had a problem with my credit union. |

Maybe they just weren't dog people
Two bank mergers later I ended up with BOA as my bank. At first I wasn't sure what to make of them but they have been very good to me and IMHO they have the best online banking of any bank out there. |

That is very strange Jim
Sadly, I'd suspect Greenie is right though. There are a few programs that send out checks with names that make it pretty obvious. I've often wondered if my bank would ever flinch...been 6 years now with no probs so far. |

Go close the account and take out all the funds now you dirty pornographer. You don't want them closing your account and holding on to the funds for 30 days or something silly like that.

I second SirMoby's suggestion. Their statement that "any balance remaining in your accounts as of the close of business on June 19th will be remitted to you" does not promise that you'd receive it that day.

I agree with Greenie.. it's because you are in Porn.
One time ifucks bounced like 300 camhoe checks back in 2002. they said they'd pay 1000 to every person who could prove an NSF on their check and would cover all the fees. We never got the 1000 though they did cover the 30.00 but they didn't cover Wachovia closing my account because of "suspicious activity and deposits." I suspected then and now that it was closed because of the "Webpower" name. Luckily one of my camhoes worked at Wells Fargo and hooked me up. I keep only enough to cover my online bill paying and little cushion..otherwise.. it's mattress time baaby. Good Luck today, Jim!! cocksucking banks.. and don't even kiss you..give you a fucking calendar once a year. |

Well, I just got off the phone and you will never guess what it was. I almost hate saying it because I seem to beat these guys up too often. And, I don't blame them at all but, it was using ePassporte. They went on to say that because of new security measures put in place, this piece of shit little hometown bank wants nothing to do with them. So, there you have it. Nobody was right and as far as I am concerned, my "old" bank sucks and needs to get into this century.
There was no way I was going to beg to stay with a bank that didn't want my business. So, I have no idea if removing epassporte from the account would have helped or not. After all, I am the customer, not the other way around. All I wanted to know was why did they want me to leave and now I know. |

Not sure if you have Wells Fargo in your neck of the woods Jim, but that's the bank I've held my corporate accounts with since starting in this biz. |

I used to have a Wells Fargo account but they are no where near me. Really, a few months ago I got sick of the crappy online banking this bank provided and opened a few at BofA. I never used them but I checked Saturday and made a quick deposit into both accounts and they are working fine.
Now I just have to get used to not having to place a phone call to get a balance. With BofA, like most banks I assume, I can deposit a check, get home, logon to my account and actually see a copy of a deposited check. All is good now. I have plenty of time to stop any incoming wires and the checks will just go to the new bank. |

With my last bank statement there was an insert with a notice about changes in fees. Some things that used to have a fee are now free and vice versa. One of the items that had been free that now has a $5 fee is incoming wire transfers.
I think I'll stick to getting checks in the mail and taking them to the bank to deposit. Not yet ready to start burying mayo jars in the backyard. |

NO! Im not a female - but being a dragon, I do eat them.
|
Tommy - thats another great off the wall advertising gimmick - heck I would just walk in and yell "Im Tommys Bookmarks" to her first LOL
That and she probably surfs your site and wants you! My bank manager (a real sweetie) had to ask me one day "Is that really Larry Flynts signature?" |
