some questions about free sites

hi, im going to try my hand at building free sites and i want to ask a few questions.

1.) i see alot of link lists want their recip on the "index.html" page. i see alot of them have 12 recips each. so if everyone wants their recip on the index.html page do you only submit each site to 12 link lists?

2.) (if not) how many link lists do you submit each of your sites to?

3.) i surfed a couple link lists today and i noticed that the free sites all look the same to me? does anyone submit unique designed free sites? what i mean is i see LOTS of different tgp gallery designs, but free sites all seem to look the same to me.

4.) are there alot of good traffic LL's that dont require partner accounts to make it worth the effort for a newbie?

heres what i know so far:

1.) good UNIQUE descriptions and titles - not overused terms like teen, mature, babe, posing...
2.) good quality content, not overused, overcompressed or screen caps.
3.) content must be in series order (ie. cumshot shouldnt come before sex, clothed then naked...)
4.) no deceptive advertising
5.) no blind thumbs
6.) no hardcore on the warning page

and thats about it. if there are any free site submitters or link list reviewers out there that want to give me a couple tips id be very grateful.

thanks, rl

A woman is like beer. They look good, they smell good, and you'd step over your own mother just to get one!

1. The way most people dodge this rule is by using the following structure:
http://www.domain.com/freesite-name/niche-keyword/
http://www.domain.com/freesite-name/another-keyword/
http://www.domain.com/freesite-name/yet-another/

.. etc. Just make sure you duplicate all your html pages because not doing so may get you declined at certain places.

then store your pictures in a central location such as:
http://www.domain.com/freesite-name/pictures/

2. I've done both ways. Sometimes i submit to 12-16, other times i submit to 100+. Both ways will work, but I think if you focus on a single entrance and try to get it listed well in the engines you'll be better off in the long run. You can work on promoting it everywhere by adding to directories like dmoz, etc. You can then tweak it later to try to gain higher positions in the search engines. This also helps with the fact that some linklists require you to update your site every so often (once every 6 months to a year, i think.) or they delist your site.

On the other hand, if you submit to a bunch of linklists you could quickly get quite a bit of traffic to play with, it just won't be as high of quality as the search engine traffic. I've heard stories of google delisting duplicate pages. I'm not sure if this is a bad thing or not.

3. I don't have an answer to this question. I'll just say that I try to make my sites unique (different layouts, custom logo and gallery buttons) .. but as you say they probably all look very similar in structure.

4. There aren't too many partner only linklists, But there are a few. Some are easy to get an account, others you pretty much have to know some people.
This doesn't matter as there are plently of high traffic public linklists. Just keep making nice sites, eventually you maybe able to obtain a partner account at some of the larger linklists.

No.
As to the number of recips check these threads located by using the board's search tool using the term "recips+number"

Seasoned submitters submit to the Link List that produce the best traffic for their sites. Newbies tend to submit to as many as their times allow. Believe me if you start out submitting to 150, that number will reduce in time. Here are some related threads
http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...threadid=12960

http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...&threadid=9883
http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...&threadid=9404
I locate the above threads by using "submit to+number" in the search tool.

It is important to your acceptance by reviewers for them to look different. On the board, their is always lots of talk about templates. Do a search on the board using "templates" This one is talking about using templates on free hosted site but there is some real good stuff in it http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...threadid=13734

In my opinion, the quality of link list traffic is much better than tgp traffic and you sure will not burn as much band width. To my knowledge, most link list submts are opened to the public. I know Danger Dave's is by invitation, Tommy Bookmark's requires a one time $50 fee, Cleo requires a partnership account, MegaPornLinks requires you to be a partner and Greenguy is considering doing something in this direction. Because of cheaters, the trend will go like the tgp's - to preferred submitters. I recently opened chopsmiths.com for submits and I require submitters to have a partnership account.

You are on target here, but keep reading the board. There is lots to learn and things change often.

Wow. That was a public service, Chop.

hermit, as to who will send good traffic- this is not so complicated.

Go to Google and punch in the search phrase of the sort of stuff you will be selling.

If you see who ranks well for 'lesbian porn' there is more of a good chance your lesbian sites will do well if you list with those link lists.

Go for it, Hermit. Before you submit it, post the URL on the board. As, you know you will get some good, constructive advice here at Greenguy and Jim's. The folks here will help you get it right before you submit.

Contrary to the way some people find this place, you seem to have found us BEFORE you made any major mistakes. I think pretty much everyone here is willing to guide you in the right direction. Link sites WANT good submissions. They don't want BS, they don't want cheaters, they want nice regualr submitters who are going to offer their surfers some entertainment, some titilation, and possibly actually sell them something on the way by.

As Chop mentioned, partner accounts are starting to be more and more of the norm these days. Too many cheaters, too many people mass producing sites, too many people secretly working as groups to gangrape link sites. Slowly this is becoming the same problem that TGPs faced, and many of the better ones have moved to 100% partner accounts or paid spots.

Working hard to make good sites will help you get into these lists, and be able to profit from the traffic.

:-)
