Average CTR on Free sites.
Hey just wanted to know what your averaging for CTR for sponsors approximatly.
If im lucky im at 0.5-1.0% ctr's. Just wanted some guidance.

you've also got the difference between click throughs per surfer and click throughs per impression. For example, if you have a total of 10 sponsor ads a surfer sees 10 impressions if he makes one click through. Therefore your ratio will be much higher if you count by the surfer and not by the banner impression.

I have installed new phpadsnew to see how well it does. maybe im just looking at the wrong stats.

You'll love it. It counts impressions, so make sure you're considering that when looking at the stats. Like I said above, if you have 10 ads on the site and you're getting 1.0% click through on the ads, that's 10% click through per surfer, which ain't bad in my opinion.

I agree. Except that it is very hard to get an exact # per surfer...

Not necessarily. Divide the number of ad clicks by the unique visitors to your main page you'll get a pretty good number.
