All of this webmaster's sites are doing this.

Yuppers. If that isn't over reacting I don't know what is.

Way to many webmasters are freaking on this right now for no reason.

Wait to see what happens with the public feedback. There are already groups getting ready to counter against this in court as we speak.

I also see constitutional issues arising. 2257 is already a law that has been in place for a while now. I think once all is said and done with the amendment it will turn out to be just another Bush hoax. Lets see has he found all those weapons of mass destruction yet?

Webmasters should talk to an attorney before doing anything rash. I think most would say follow the rules already in place and don't worry about it for now.

It will be a long drawn out battle for sure.

Here for a moment.
That is the most idiotic thing I have ever seen. I especially like the "don't blacklist me" part. It should say, "Don't blacklist me because of this page, blacklist me because I am a moron".

Regarding the proposed rules, the comment period is over. There is now a 30 day period during which the comments will be reviewed and the proposed rules may or may not be revised. In any case, the new rules go into effect 30 days after the publication of the final rules in the Federal Register, which could happen Monday or it could happen 3 weeks from now. Nothing has gone into effect yet, and anyone claiming that the "proposed" new rules are already enforceable is being reckless and inflammatory. Seems like the guy who pulled down all his sites was definitely bitten by a doomsayer or two.

Me, I'm still building sites. The new content I buy from this day forward has all info required by the "proposed" regs, so I'll be covered regardless of what the final rules look like. I've taken some time and build myself a database that will allow me to comply. The new regs are NOT retroactive, though the waters are still muddy even with the 10th circuit ruling on who is and isn't a "primary producer" since that ruling only technically applies to the 10th circuit. So, I say better safe than sorry.

By not being one of the "sky is falling" crowd, I've efficiently used the last couple months to prepare myself for whatever happens, and I know that the great majority of experienced US webmasters have done the same thing.

Yes, I'm prepared for some sort of hassle once the new regs go into effect, but since they're not published in the FR yet any action such as pulling all sites down is WAY premature. You wanna panic? At least wait for the final rules to be published.

I bet someone can get him to sell off his domain pretty easily.

Nice domain- 7 DMOZ listings. Been registered since 2001.

Pretty silly unless the guy had lots of "iffy" stuff.

Wow i bet that made you feel all high and mighty huh?
Did you let the webmaster know that you blackisted them and removed their sites so that they can pull all your recips if they want to??
Or did you just blacklist them and let them keep your recips up?

Do you think that they have to get a job at a fast food store becasue you dont list thsir sites?

The problem with webmasters that run SOME of these link lists is that they feel like they want to play GOD in exchange for 20 hits a day.
Get A Grip would you? I guess after you get your ass licked by webmasters wanting a few hits a day on this board all the time it gets to your head.

It's amazing how anonymity will make one's balls grow.

The 404er would have been better served if he 404'd to GW's site. I can't imagine anything making a hardon shrivel away faster than that man's face. Even faster than Austin Power's 'Margaret Thatcher naked on a cold day'.

What recips? They took down all their sites, there is no recips.

Did the webmaster let me know that all their sites would be going 404? No they didn't, they let my surfers find 404 pages.

I have nothing against people who work in fast food. Right person for the right job, someone has to do it. From your post IMO you will have a great career in fast food.

LOL... the webmaster took those sites down.. there is no recips on them.

Wrong place, wrong person and wrong time, but not a badly executed rant otherwise. 6.5

You're an idiot. Actually, scratch that - you were smart enough to register a fake nick so you could make these ridiculous comments without fear of losing your precious 20 hits a day.

This webmaster 404'd all of his sites on purpose, for no reason.

There have been no changes to 2257. The proposed changes have not been adopted yet, but he's taken down all of his sites & wants LL & TGP owners to spend their time discussing the matter with him?

Site owners are now linking to sites with no recips, no content & a government warning to scare off their loyal bookmarkers? I'd blacklist him in a heartbeat.

Oh look, there is some sky on the floor.... you can tell it's sky, it smells like the stuff coming out of the dog's behind.

No matter when happens, link sites and TGPs will not link to scare pages. Blacklist? Who cares... he won't be submitting anything else any time soon.
