Fastest I ever saw was 9 out in LA a few years back - my friends had DSL & they were on the same block as the hub/jump station.

I was over at www.dslreports.com trying over speed tests. I got just a few bits under 2 megs using a test site much closer to where I am.

Saw this add for ADSL while there. www.speakeasy.net/dsl/ Damn, they offer a 6 meg ADSL line for what I was paying for my geriatric ADSL.
