New submission form
Hey guys, I thought that I would try something different with my LL at virexy-porn.com.
I tried to explain the idea at http://www.virexy-porn.com/submitn.php. Basically, you would submit a free site without link to my or any other LL. Instead you'd permanently put my link on one of your domain's index page. I would then accept one submission per day as long as that one back-link is still on your site. Please let me know what you think. Thanks. Last edited by Holister; 2012-03-13 at 03:45 PM.. |

More domains = more free sites? (I usually submit 3/day)

Yeah, that could work, thanks for the suggestion. I will modify the script to allow that...

Nice. Maybe we can get away from recip tables completely.

Very interesting.
I like the traffic back from the recip tables. Is this bad for SEO or something?

edit: For his linklist SEO should be better, for fs without recip tables should be better too, forget about traffic back from recip tables. But this should work, recip links from index pages holds much more value than reciprocals on domain.com/folder/subfolder/fs.html and fs without so many reciprocals should have much better chance for higher SEO. Once linklist receives many extra backlinks from domain index/main pages, linklist should have more organic traffic from google ( mainly because lists our fs's not very heavy on external links ) therefore listed fs should receive more traffic from linklist. I believe this was tried by someone around here before with not much luck.
Not that this is a bad thing to try, maybe with the right list it could work. |

Thanks for explaining it. That's what I thought, better SEO for both me and submitters, resulting in more traffic for all of us. And, less work for submitter. I realize I would lose traffic from recip tables, but I don't see any downside for submitter.
But, nobody seems to be interested, nobody registered yet. Well, I tried Quote:

While I don't submit traditional free sites any longer, I do think that doing it the way Holister is offering provides benefits for both LL owner and submitter.
Robert is right that this has been tried without much success before though. It's always hard to change the established and accepted way of doing things. Part of the problem is that the benefit immediately flows to the LL owner, since the recip link from the submitter's index page would be there right from the start. But the submitter will usually still be submitting an old-style free site with a table full of reciprocal links that's just missing that one LL's recip link. It could be good for the submitters who already build a "clean" (no recips) version of each free site since they could submit a link to that version. But submitters who don't already do that would have to make a clean copy to get the full benefits and not everyone wants to add more work to their schedule for something they don't know will benefit them. I think this is something that would need to be agreed on by at least a majority of the largest LLs who currently send the most traffic to free sites before you can expect much change from submitters. Like no one says...adapt or don't.

That's good point. Then maybe it would be fair to offer submitters kind of 'signup bonus'. Like 3 free sites listed immediately after registration's approval? |

I generally like this idea, but I'd like to keep the number of outgoing links on the index page on some reasonable level - it means +/- 20 for me. So in this case the TOP link lists may get some "fresh wind" but other ones may die immediately.
I also think that the links from those index pages, that are on google's botom, have quite negligible impact (and this applies to most of the free site domains I think). |

It was smaller list I believe that had no real love by the big G engine. Thats why I stated with the right list this could work.

Okay, so it has been tried before. But I still don't understand why people don't want to try it. I thought current LL concept was on such a decline that it would seem to be reasonable to change things a bit. And submitter won't even have to do any additional work when he's submitting regular recip free sites (at least I always used to create clean site before the recip ones).

I was thinking about this & I know it's work with Link Admin as far as linking back from the root.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
|
It seems to me if a network of sites got together and adopted this it would work. I for one tend to submit on domains I have a hub, link list or blog on my index and setting up all the links one time on that index would be easy.
But like everyone else said, we'd all have to all agree to do it. Personally, I'd be open to do it on all my link lists if everyone else in the group wanted to set it up. It seems to me it would help out the link lists, and since you weren't doing a ton of identical link backs on a domain to the LL, might make it look less "spammy" to G. Not sure how it would effect back links though.

Helping Holister to push things in this direction a little and maybe set new trend I also added this feature to my LL.
I had recip hardcoded on my submission page so it was exactly the same as submission url. But now when you go to submission page and clicking ?lazy button, you have two simple buttons/options to choose from, "s" recip on submission page or "d" recip on root index of that domain. I don't know if that makes sense but when you go to that page you will know what to do. Very easy. |

I am doing this with a high traffic asian tgp we submit to. We put their link on our blog page and submit galleries...If anyone will accept galleries, unique content, please let me know. I like Holister's idea. It seemed to improve the quality of our traffic from the effort.
Again, if you have a LL we can submit galleries to, please let me know. if anyone wants a permanent link on a blog in exchange for gallery submission please let me know. Thanks sorry for repeat, its 3am.
