I really wish this board had a "Guide to Introducing Yourself" that explained how it was important to tell the board readers a little about your background, what you do now, what sites you run, where you're located, why you're here, etc. I almost never bother welcoming anyone in the "New to GG&J?" threads because most newcomers just post some version of "Hello!" because they don't know how to introduce themselves on a board.

Then again, it does help to single out the clueless among us.
