Affiliates.....split or dont split?
Hi guys,
What is the difference between split and dont split when you have an affiliate program and whch option is better for webmasters to want to promote you? Im assuming it is for the recurring billing? But not sure. Thanks DK |

Not sure what you mean but I'm guessing that you're looking at if the program splits the cost of the merchant account with the affiliate. In the purest form, It's best for the affiliate to not pay this - but from a program perspective, we3 can give x-amount to affiliates and still maintain our profit margin. Thus, if I give you a 60% revshare and split the cost of processing the credit cards, you're still better off than if I give you 50% and I pay all the cost of processing the cards.
The real formulas is tied back into if it sells or not - if a program sells very well, a 20% revshare might have more return for your effort than a 90% revshare program that never sells. |

Thanks.. I was just looking in the CCbill admin area and saw my list of affiliates..some said split , some said dont split... Myself , I had gone with no split for my own program, so was wondering what it actually meant,. its probly in the admin area somewhere that explains it.

Yup - don't hessitate to call the guys at ccbill if you have questions - they are awesome!
For me as an affiliate, it really makes no difference - bottom line is if the program make me $$$$ for my efforts. |

When i join a ccbill program I mainly prefer to get at least $15 initial profit recurring as an affiliate for a signup and this is mainly what I look at. I also like to see the following (if it helps) - At least 50% split (after any processing fees are deducted) - Minimum Pricepoint around $29.95 (to get $15 profit) - Cookie length at least 7 days (30 is better) - No major traffic links (links page, clipsforsale, uncredited links, etc) - direct ccbill linkcodes (personal preference) - NO TRIALS (on revshare, I want min. $15 for a signup) - Updates at least every other week, minimum monthly for rare fetish. - No consoles without credit. (traffic leak) - No cross-sales on revshare (hurts rebills) This is ideally. I can be pretty picky, I know. Hope this helps. Forgot to mention. A $99 option (not default or the only option) for 6/9/12 months is also highly preferred as well because I know often surfers will go for it and on a 50/50 program this is $50 in my pocket as an affiliate. Price point of $24.95 at 60% is $14.97 without splits - is that clise enough . I wish every program would set cookies to 255 days - the max CCbill allows. I think some just leave the default and have no idea what it is or how it affects affiliates. I hate traffic leaks - I'm an affiliate too Not 100% sure I understad what you mean by "direct ccbill linkcodes" but I assume that the program links directly to ccbill and not to their own stats. If so, I agree. Never did like trials on a rev-share. Updates should be a minimum of bi-monthly and I agree on the consoles But I'd like to see proof that cross-sales hurt rebills - I've seen no such correlation but I can't prove it doesn't hurt them either. I am, however, convinced that up-sells (within the same program) help rebills. Give the customer access to all of the sites for an additional $6.00 - and they have more content to wade through on a weekly basis - thus they stay longer. IMO |

It's common sense that, in most cases, selling a member off to another site would obviously kill the rebill. It might help the rebill stats of the site you cross-saled to though.

While the answers above pretty much explain it, let me help confirm. The split fee applies to any sales generated, new and rebills.
