NEWBIE...Motivated but totally lost in the woods of porn

Hi All.
I'm a newbie from Norway. 30 of age and with some IT-experience.
Now given the opportunitie to work from home, andI'm strongly motivated to make it in the Porn biz.

So far i've registered smutbiz.info/.org/.net/biz and milfforu.net.
So far i've just put premade sites from my provider TopBuckson those sites.

So far i mainly try to post my galleries to as many TGP's as possible using Dreamsubmitter. My wife has worked as a norwegian nudemodel/ nude agency the last few years, so i have lots of soft-nude exclusive girlpics, also a large DB of facialpics. In the future I wanna work mainly two catogories ( because I've heared it's better to stick to a few niches) and that'll be facial and MILF's-niches. Chosen because this is the porn I myself likes best, and therefor i think thats what i'll be best "pushing".

I have had the sites up for a cpl of months but i recieve VERY few hits from my galleries, so the last few days I've been buying sometraffic from TrafficHolder they provide many kinds of traffic, but I've choosen to try out their high-cost niche traffic,sending them to my galleries ( who look like this: FacialgallerySample)
and directly to the JustFacial-site.
The bought traffic are generating about 1-2 sales pr 3k-5k of traffic.
So far I've been submitting galleries using DS for about 2-3 months,but only recieved a handfull of sales.

So.... I would be extremely happy if someone would give me some directions, helpfull tips etc. Remember i'm a TOTAL newbie to this buisniss, and ALL tips will make me happy! And that would be everuthing from where to find software, what should i focus on ( galleries/tgp/freesite/blog etc etc)hosting,design ++++

Today I'll try to find a good adult blog.
I'm planning to have at least 2 blogs, updated 4-5 days a week. One for facial porn, one for MILF-porn.Would You suggest to run and host my own blog, or should i use some of the free blogs out there?

I'm strongly motivated and wanna make porn my way to live.

If it's some interest in this, i also consider to write updates here ( where I follow Your tips, and letting You kno whow the bis works out) and make it a "guideline" on how to start out, and makeit in the pornbiz....

I'd be interested in how others feel about traffic holder, and any type of purchased traffic for that matter. I have had very little luck with it...but could be I'm not buying right.

As far as "doing the kind of porn that interest you..." well, that comes up from time to time here, and while it may make your job more enjoyable, I'm not so sure it's a good business model. Many of my sales come from porn I would never look at. Some of the old timers here advised me to try new, different things, and I must say my sales would be much lower if I had not.

Hi Roy and welcome to GG&J!

Porn definitely isn't the easy money it once was, so be prepared for long hours and hard work before you see any appreciable returns.

Most people on this board will agree that TGP submitting is harder to break into than linklists/freesites and the traffic is less productive. At this point I definitely wouldn't waste money buying traffic for your galleries. If the ones you posted are your own creations you need to brush up on your design skills, if they're provided by your sponsor, well...enuff said.

Try building freesites (general formula = index -> main page -> 2 gallery pages). Check out people's sigs and the resources pages for places to submit to. Also surf those sites to get a feel for design/quality standards for freesites.

Since your wife doesn't seem to be of the shy type how 'bout building a paysite around her (if she doesn't already have one)?

Looking at that BA story made me chuckle at how liberal they are in Norway in such matters compared to America. Over here they'd cuff her and throw her in jail on the spot for pulling a stunt like that.

Other than that just read a lot and ask specific questions when you're stuck. Good luck!

I agree with Lemmy entirely, it takes dedication. In the long run though - you get paid for looking at porn all day

In terms of your TGPs though - unsqueeze those image holders on that one site and it should be fine.

Traffic Holder is my favorite for buying traffic. The thing to keep in mind thogh, is that buying traffic is not an automatic money maker.

Too many people think buying $50 in traffic will get them at least $50 in sales. While this can be true, you need to focus on getting bookmarkers and you get those by sending people at your site and ***having good content*** everyone ignores the content side for some reason. Bookmarkers up your daily average visits, which pump your trades, which pumps your Pagerank, which pumps your visitors.... ad nauseum. Content is the key though, no one will return if you show them crap thumbnails.

So, give Traffic Holder a chance and just keep spending what you can while trying to get quality content on there and you'll see conversions soon.

Content is king.

There is quite a learning curve and it does take time and dedication. I would be wary of buying any traffic as a newbie. You have to learn to get your own traffic, build it up gradually and perfect your sales techniques. Read, read, read on the boards about how other people work - invaluable tips there. Remember that what works for someone else, might not work for you, so use your own judgment and experiment.

If you have the webmasters bug, then you're in for a nice thrill. For me, looking at porn is not a bonus at all, more like a burden. It's the game of getting the traffic and turning it into cash that I enjoy most

Be careful what you wish for.

Just as a side note, the JPGs in your gallery are way too huge.

If you are using Photoshop, be sure to use the "Save for web" option and something around a medium JPG setting.

Otherwise, you will be killed on bandwidth as well as people leaving because the images take too long to load.

Ok Smutmaster , here are some tips that I learned the long and unprofitable way , because i wasn't smart enough to ask .
-Hunter is right , your thumbs are way too big in filesize . Make them as small as you can while still being clear . You might also want to try making their dimensions a little larger to get listed on a wider variety of TGPs . Photoshop File-Automate-Web Photo Gallery: Set the thumb and full size pic size .
-Your gallery tells me to "Join Now" But doesn't say what I'm Joining . Personally I tend to stay away from the word "join" . Join means spending money - you risk turning them off before they get to the tour . Let them see the word "join" when the sample clip on the tour ends and they've got their hard dick in their hand .
- I would also try making galleries where all photos contain the same girl . If they join , it's likely because they want to see that girl getting facialized or whatever the case may be . Others may disagree .
- Find something that works for you and start cranking it out relentlessly .
