TGP vs Blog
Hi
I'm starting out and trying to find a more effective way to enter the industry. Could you please list the main advantages of TGP's and Blogs? It seems like Blogs are cheaper to start with, but a lot of people choose TGP nevertheless. What's the catch there? Thanks a lot |

if you are just starting out, you need to learn what works for you. What works for me and what works for the next guy might be completely different.
and don't limit it to just blogs, or just tgps. try a few different things, and build on where you start to see your best results. |

When I started in the biz for my first go around, I made the mistake of getting myself soley into one groove..TGP traffic. I never utilized the resources like Free Sites, Link Lists, etc. Mainly because I didnt understand them and how they worked. There was never a really good webmaster board like GG&J's to bounce ideas off others or just soak in the knowlegde of all that have gone before me or along side of me.
You will ultimately find what works for you but dont limit yourself to one outlet. Make good use of this board and other resources and you will learn some very valuable lessons and how the industry works. J- |

Create a nice blog network - much better than the other options out there. But if you want to run a blog or a network of blogs you need to be very dedicated to publishing on a daily basis otherwise it won't work.

A blog will generate much better traffic than a TGP. All you have to do is write good blog posts and keep it updated - that's what search engine likes.

I have to chime in here to agree with Bob, try a little of everything and find what works for you.

That'll teach you to leave your sister unattended.....

Both Bob and ClickBuster make good points - regardless of the direction you go it will take daily input. There is no such thing as putting up a site (blog, tgp, LL etc..) and just letting it sit there and exacting traffic.
Weather you submit free sites, galleries, manage an LL, create blogs, etc.... you will need to extend a daily effort to see returns in the form of traffic. |

You can now put whatever you want in this space :)
|
TGPs require a plan to obtain and trade MASSIVE amounts of traffic in order to be profitable. TGPs are the "fast food" of porn -- high volume, low margins. Unless you have experience and a well thought out marketing plan you'd be better doing something in this business.

No offence Apu, but when they were handing out religions you must have been out taking a whizz

If you can construct well worded descriptive paragraphs then i would say go for blogs and start writing!

Blogs FTW. Search engines eat that crap up. Just feed them big juicy keywords in your write-ups and be consistent in your updates.
Make sure you can kind of get into a rhythm for posting. Or if you're lazy, get a script that auto feeds in an RSS that posts for you when you slack-off. RSS usually has bad quality posts though and it's hard to find with some sponsors. Some sponsors are getting wise though, so look around. Good luck
