New to Blogging
Hello all, I am a total newbie when it comes to blogging but want to start a blog. (got my work cut out for me huh) I'm not sure where to start so wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. What kind of scripts are used, etc. any advise would be great.
Thanks |

Hi there Beachbum. I started my first blog in May and just started a new one a couple of weeks ago, and they're great fun, but also a lot of work staying on top of postings.
Wordpress seems to be the most popular script, but there are lots of others so look around. You also have blogsites like blogger.com where you can set up your blog for free. My personal opinion though, is that if you're serious abot it put it on your own domain. There seems to be two different schools as far as how to run a porn blog. A lot of people simply use the software to make a fake TGP to post FHGs, while a "real" blogger will put more effort into writing posts, creating more text. I couldn't tell you which approach works best for sales, though. Hit me up when you're up and running for some link trades. Good luck!

Hey thanks Lemmy for the feedback. I will definately register a domain for it but am not looking for a fake tgp. I have an idea for this blog, I plan to make it fit into a particular niche. It will be first and foremost a porn blog but also would like to have some industry related articles and some commentary from yours truly.

Excellent, another person that believes blogs should have actual text LOL I just started mine at the end of sept, and am having great good fun with it But I also ran a "regular" blog while I was in Iraq, supposedly so friends and family could keep up with what was going on but it ended up attracting more attention from folks I didn't know. It got pretty boring for the non family after I got home, though, and I couldn't keep up with it while I was still in. I'm loving this new one, and find it's a great way to spotlight galleries I have built and my niche sites (it's a general porn blog, but of course has a ethnic/tits/stories bias simnply because it's mine!) along with specific sponsor sites.

Hey Beachbum. I too have recently started a weblog (few months now, but have been out of town with family issues and unable to update) and so far I'm enjoying it alot.
I've been scripting community driven websites for many years now, and as a result have always relied on my own scripts to perform for me. Of course, premade scrips (wordpress, blogger.com, etc) have their pros (easy to use RSS feeds, constant updates and support, etc) but in my oppinion, if you have a small amount of cash to spend, get your own domain and find someone with experience to design a custom blogging script for you. If you don't want to spend money just yet, wordpress seems to be very popular. Good luck, and let us know when your all set up, there's plenty of quality blog traffic to trade with around here. Arial xx

Sounds great Arial, as a matter of fact I am playing around with wordpress right now. I certainly don't mind spending some cash but right now I have so many projects going this free script should handle things.
As far as getting my own domain to host it goes.....wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks, will keep ya posted. |

Word Press definately seems to be the blogging software of choice but if your going to play around with software a bit, check out Bblog.
I find it just totally flexable and most of the Word Press templates will work with Bblog. But then again...I've actually never take Word Press for a serious spin. Check out my blogs in my sig...when your up and running let me know if your interested in a link exchange! |
