Screw H2oh hosting
Yep, they're down again, no email, no site, it gives me a "Too many connections to MySql" Site has been down so many fucking times, I wonder if they learned about electronics by shoving a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in a VCR?
If your looking to go with them, your not looking very hard, they are unprofessional and just not very good at what they do, I figure they owe me for about a year of hosting for all the headache's they have put me thru. The new hosting for my sites will be up any day now and I'm looking foward to something that actually works! |

Hi Vendzilla
"Too many connections to MySql" is probobly caused by your scripts and the fact the leave connection open, as far as i know they have their problems but this one doesnt look like caused by them |

and as far as service, I have 2 open trouble tickets that are over 2 weeks old, I'm not hard to get along with, just make my hosting work, they moved my site once to a different server, the Productivity went back up to 220%, then slowly back down to a mere 75%, that's fucked, nobody wants to click on a site that loads slow

I'm going to the backseat of my car with the woman I love, and I won't be back for TEN MINUTES
|
I can vouch for Vendzilla that they do overload their servers.. I've seen loads as high as 25 with them back when I was with them, and it was above 10 on a regular basis.

It is very common to get SQL busy errors if there are too many people on a shared box. Especially if, as was already said, that someone has a persistent connection set up in one of their scripts. That means your box is down one connection from the get go. Get a couple of people doing that, and it is very easy to tie up SQL on any shared box. If you are really concerned, you might want to look a a dedicated box, or if you don't know a lot about the technical side, look at managed hosting.
Running a site on a shared server presents you with many problems you would not otherwise find, and it puts you at the risk of other webmasters!

And anyhow if you are serious about running a script based site Ie.. tgp mgp, you damn sure shouldn't be on a virtual box anyhow. is Ok oto maybe get rolling then move it over to a dedicated box they are fairly cheap nowadays. Im on H2o and I have not had a problem.

well i heard about lots of problems with comus thumbs and i know for sure that this specific error is caused by poor coding i used to have same errors with other tgp scripts when i used to be on virtual hosting these days i just prevent it from happening by reset the sql once a while and all unclosed connection are cancelled so i dont have this problem any more

Took the hint.
|
If you are on a shared box, and you are running DB intensive scripts, you are asking for trouble.
Computer resources are not infinite. Sharing them with other people that you cannot control is not making your life any easier. Dedicated boxes with decent amounts of bandwidth are pretty much down to cheap as chips... invest in your business a little, and quit blaming your host because you expect your hyundai car hosting to keep up with the porches on the street. I use them have been for over a year. I haven't had any trouble at all. Any time I submit a trouble ticket it gets answered right away. Yikes hope this isn't a known bad host, as I knew nothing when I picked them out. I just liked their prices, did I pick a bad host?

I hosted with them for awhile, had the constant slow loading issues, too. Looked up my ip, and there were 250+ domains assigned to it. The final straw was when 50+ incoming emails "dissappeared" over a 2 day period. Submitted a support ticket and got a response of "all fixed" in less than 5 minutes. What a joke. it takes that long look up my damn info, let alone fix anything, and then never even got the missing emails.

true the issue "Too many connections to MySql" can be resolved with simple reset of mysql on the server no html or any other files needs to be restored !

I don't have to be careful. I got a gun
|
I'm with them for about 9 or 10 months now and I must say that I had some troubles with downtimes and once with a DNS issue, but each time I mailed them I got a reply in less than 15 minutes and also the issues were solved quite fast. I'm not having a dedicated server at them, just a resseler account and I'm pretty happy with it.

well I'm moving to a dedicated sever, sharing a big one with a friend that's just useing it for storage.
I start with a shared plan, then the plan was to get the traffic up and have it pay for a dedicated server, I was up to 10k a day uniques, for a niche tgp was pretty good, then their harddrive crashed, my site was down for 2 weeks while they fucked with it, I was down to 2k a day after that, it has flucuated up and down, and I can't take it anymore, I have other projects. Tony at Comus is always helping me with things, he even gave me a deal where if you want I can give you a buy one copy, get the second copy for free, just ask and I'll set you up. I'm no newbie with comus, I understand how everything works, I've been doing all the tweaking to get it just right, it was on it's way, but after the hard drive blew it's wad, it was never the same! |

here's what I just got in a email from h2oh support
We have corrected the issue. Now the domain n2bigtits.com is working fine. Mysql went down since there was heavy load on the server and a process called PRM automatically kills those process which takes heavy load. The PRM helps the server to attain maximum uptime by killing the process which is causing heavy load. |
