need an animated gif program

Hi Guys,

I am trying to make a gif using just under 100 images. I want it to be quite large and I want all the images to flash up one by one in different possitions with different time delays for each image. I found a way to do this using some pretty simple java, but I lost the webpage with the how to instructions and can't find it again.

Can anyone tell me a program of script that would do what I want.

Thanks
Hat

It'd probably easier to do this in Flash (pretty basic Flash animation).

For a program, I would recommend Selteco Bannershop GIF Animator (www.selteco.com), it makes it easy to add images and set the time delay for each image.

I use ImageReady which is part of Photoshop to make gif animations.

Making a gif with that many animation frames needs to be very small on the page (120x60 pixels) or you're going to have a huge file size which may cause you problems. Even with a massively reduced number of colors it will probably load too slow and look terrible.

If each frame is a photo, remember that photographs compress better as jpegs, not gifs.

Flash is a much better option, but from what you said, I'd say that you are looking for something along the lines of this

using well compressed jpegs.

I would be asking myself if a surfer is gonna sit through 100 photos in a slideshow. But I guess I don't know exactly what you are trying to do with it.
