What pisses me off the most about scrubs was that it use to start at 8:59....

Then it started at 8:54...

Now it's back on at 9:00.....

WTF... I have the dvr set for 5 min before and after just so I can watch the whole show.

Simpson’s as well, I love watching it, but it's not a "must see" as much as it use to be, I really think the show isn’t as good as it use to be, much more miss then hit compared to what it use to be like.

My list of "must-see" shows has dropped off a lot recently. It's down to Lost, Carnivale and The Amazing Race. Still loyal to Survivor and The Apprentice, but I wouldn't cry if I missed an episode. Still fond of Joan of Arcadia, but the quality's dropped off from the first season. (I really don't need either of the Duffs on my TV, ever.) I have managed to completely avoid American Idol this year, and I feel better for it. I'll make up for that when Big Brother starts. (I'll probably even pay for the live feeds. How sad is that?) Big Brother is like summer camp. In all the good ways, and all the bad...

I only half pay attention to Stargate SG-1 and Stargate-Atlantis, but only because I really enjoy watching SG1 in syndication, and I want to save up.

Dr Who is the only program that they are still making that I cannot miss. However in the past there was The Prisoner and Twin Peaks. I also try not to miss any Darren Brown show, but mostly because I am studying his use of NLP.

grandmascrotum - You are going to have to move across the water to New Zealand. Apparently no Australian broadcaster is going to show the new Dr Who series, but it is showing in New Zealand.

Kids are great, Appu. You can teach them to hate the things you hate and they practically raise themselves now-a-days, you know, with the internet and all

Still show up for Simpsons, though it's not a stellar season. I like to watch the recent Simpsons DVDs with commentary--Conan is very entertaining. Another DVD must-have for comedy lovers is "Mr. Show". It ran for four seasons on HBO, and is one of the funniest sketch comedies ever--David Cross and Bob Odenkirk are brilliant!

As far as watching stuff that's actually being broadcast now, I dig Family Guy (can't wait for the new shows!), the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Home Movies, Sealab 2021 (as a kid, I loved the real Sealab 2020), and, I have to admit, re-runs of The West Wing. When it's firing on all cylanders, West Wing is one of the most well made television shows I've ever seen--the writing, acting, photography, and all other factors make it as cinematic a product as the boob tube has ever managed.

Oh yeah, I have also discovered "The Shield" in reruns--it took a long time for Chiklis to discover that he needed to lose twenty pounds and stop trying to be funny to be compelling LOL

This post must make all the TV executives happy - almost all the big shows are mentioned

Mt favorites:
1. Sopranos (have all DVDs)
2. 6 Feet under (have 1-3 on DVD)
3. Coupling (a very clever English show!)
4. The Elefant (german crime similar to Cold Case, shown here on SBS with subtitles)
5. the 'original' Law & Order, not so much SVU, and never "criminal intent" - can't stand the lead!
6. sometimes Without a Trace
and don't forget the Simpson if it's not a repeat of a repeat - always good for a laugh!

Can't remember the last time there was an Australian "not-to-be-missed" show on television... Personally I can go 2-3 weeks w/o turning the thing on (except international news), but my 'better half' is a bit of an addict!

I forgot, the one show that I caught every episode of every single series was Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and I think I also managed it with Dark Angel (the Jessica Alba series not the Buffy spin off), and all but the last season of Xena. But in these cases I watched them because I love watching women kicking shit out of someone, so these were more porn that TV shows for me. Plus there is the fact that Alyson Hanagan and Jessica Alba are two of the few women under 30 that I find attractive (although I don't think Alyson Hanagan is under 30 anymore).

I've really tried to cut back on the TV, but the can't miss shows are:

House
Enterprise
West Wing
Survivor
CSI (Vegas)
Battlestar Gallactica

My guilt shows (the ones I just can't stay away from, and that my wife won't watch {maybe that's why I do it .. LOL} ) are

Joan Of Arcadia
The Gilmore Girls

I waste too much time watching TV, but it's been a long cold winter
