search engine optimization
Has anyone every heard of search engine optimization. My web designer mentioned it and wants to charge me about 75.00 one time fee to get in. I think he called it Blazer something or other.
First he said it was about 30.00...then went up on the price. Can someone fill me in? thanks |

OMG... that's the funniest attempt at a CDBS I've seen in a while!
What's your website SweetVoice? $75 sounds like a cheap quote! Show us the current site he has to work with. PS. got a pic? ; -)) |

NO! Im not a female - but being a dragon, I do eat them.

First off - this thread will probably get moved over to the SE forum
What he's talking about is Traffic Blazer which retails for about $30 - its a "traffic manager" and is just another tool to get yourself banned from search engines If someone tells you that you need SEO on a site you might want to read Googles SEO page http://www.google.com/webmasters/seo.html You can get most of the info you really need to rank well in SEs right here in our search engine forum - just start reading As others have mentioned - its best to post your URL if you want some free advice |

Thanks Linkster
Thanks, Linkster for the info. I am researching the situation now.
I am new to some of this and appreciate the understanding of someone who sidesteps the arrogance and really is interested in helping. I called GoDaddy to verify Traffic Blazer and they said it's perfectly fine . They said it shouldn't be a problem. I will keep investigating before I go further. BTW...my url is www.frenchiesfantasytales.com Pardon me for not realizing I had to post it. Thanks again for your kindness. |

SweetVoice - didnt mean you *had* to post the url - it just helps for us to look and give free advice
As far as GoDaddy - that wouldnt be where the problem would come in - the real problem is the Search Engines themselves - Most of them really do not like the auto submission process and advise against using that type of software - the old fashioned manual method of submitting works much better - of course the best method of getting listed in search engines is to have other web sites link to yours (and its free) Of course your site is already listed in Google so getting submitted is kind of a moot point - the next thing to get it to rank well for the keywords and search terms is first to decide what you want to show up for - then the "optimizing" part of the website could start and there's plenty of help here to get it started |

My apologies SweetVoice.. I thought you had an alterior motive with your first post
Glad Linkster was here to help properly! Btw.. CDBS = Covert Drive By Spam (someone who runs around all the boards, acting like they want information.. or making up a lame question to encourage discussion about a product they want to promote) |

Don't get discouraged; it's usually the last key that opens the lock...

So True
Of course it did cross my mind that GoDaddy wouldn't slam Traffic Blazer..LOL.
I told my web guy to just forget the whole SEO thing. What I will do is make a link page and start doing more recip. links. If anyone is interested, let me know. Check my site to see if we can both benefit. Thanks all. www.frenchiesfantasytales.com |

SEO_Konsul this post was dead along while ago. You would have done better pming him your proposal than restarting this tread. I would suggest you take that rought next time before bring an old thread like this back up again.
