OK one thing is pissing me off with this. I must have a setting wrong or something. It wont allow me to open more than one browser at a time. This is a real pain in the ass for many reasons.
Anyone have a solution? |

looks like you are not alone there.... usually when I clicked a link on the board it opened in a new tab, now it opens up a new window every time....
I checked through the settings but I can't find anything about that....any ideas? kristian, regarding the new browser - can't you just open a new window? |

Hi physio,
I'm not sure myself. There doesn't seem to be anything to change it in the settings. The main prob I'm having now is with this online radio station I listen to (KABTalk). Every time I forget and just click normally a link, it changes the radio browser box, forcing me to go to their website and start all over again. If I find anything I'll post here. |

Finally! I've been love with Firefox since someone on this board mentioned months ago. I did have a re-occurring problem with it locking up and scanning my harddrive for 30-60 seconds at time when I'd scroll my bookmarks and some websites. Not all of the time, but several times a day. But I just found the answer on their forum yesterday. Too many fonts enabled on my system. I disabled my extra few thousand fonts in Adobe Type Manager and now it works like a dream come true. I'll have to re-enable them for graphics work, but that is better than using IE.
Firefox is also excellent at picking up minor errors in webpages. Makes you build better pages.

Did anyone find how to open tabs instead of a separate browser when clicking on a link? I've never been able to do that & it is one of the reasons why I use firefox is I love the use of tabs.
I thought it may have been an extension that you could add on, but have not been able to find it. |

Do this: Tools>Options>Advanced>Tabbed Browsing, then select 'a new tab in the most recent window'. That should do you.

Even changing the tabbed browsing preference in FF 1.0 it wouldnt open new links in a tab. Here is the extension that sets that up for you:

They have a message board ya know:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/index.php?c=4 I'll hold off on updating until all the extensions work well with the new version. BTW, in browsing the forum a bit I learned if you just put in: about:config ...in the address bar that brings up all the settings which you can edit right there. Sweet. |

If you like Firefox's Tabbed browsing.. but cant handle using it all the time due to the annoying compatibility isssues...
This has an even better tabbed browsing system imho http://www.maxthon.com It is built on the IE engine... so it's FAR more compatible with current website coding than Firefox ever even plans to be. |
