at the risk of sounding like one of the shop owners in tigermoms town, I think you guys are being a little hard on Dennis and Teela
I talk to them on icq and he always tells me when its him and not Teela if any of you had a paysite and one day you woke up and found out that your partner had afflaite accounts for typeins etc etc etc, and you had no control over any of it what so ever I bet all of you would be singing a different tune this is what happens with partners on the internet anyone thats been online a few years has been through it the rest of you will also go through it (yes you) and its always EXACTLY the same story .... he didnt do this, she did that, he took this its always messy and painfull from my experence I wouldnt be so quick to point fingers

I think the big issue here is Teela and Dennis using one account. That's deception. They should have 2 separate accounts at this board, not one.
I personally have no problem with their "partner" lending them money, happens all the time. But I do have a problem with their partner having an account in HIS name taking the type-ins. BUT it appears that was not done on purpose and he (Nifield) has not been paid out on that account. So all seems legit there. Looks to me that Nifield did nothing wrong and has been a standup guy trying to help them get the site off the ground. Trying to help them for a percentage of the business/sales. Dennis and Teela should NEVER have taken this to the boards until they found out if Nifield had been paid out on those type-in sales and now we know he hasn't. Dennis and Teela should have joined a program when they started then there would be no problems like they have now. Unprofessional IMO but that happens with "newer" webmasters/site owners. |

but Nifield does know what he is doing and he did sign up for that affliate account, right ???
the way I see it its teela's site, he may have paid for the hosting but she has a small site. no hosted gallerys so the hosting bill was probably next to nothing

Just to touch on what Tommy said. I can vouche that it can and in most cases "happen" to you. I wasnt "screwed" so to speak, but I was working pretty much exclusively with a couple during my first years as an adult webmaster. We had contracts in place and re-upped them every 6 months. Well after the site had grown, following the 2nd year of working with them they decided that they no longer wanted a partnership and took the responsibility on themselves. The site had been established, they were retaining members for an avg. of 2 months after initial signup and went at it alone. I had no choice and after my rebills stopped so did the cash flow. It was an investment in time, that had paid off for a short period, but I had only put my "eggs" in one basket. And even though I had done all the work to get the traffic to the site, designed the site, revamped the site, it was STILL their site. They owned the domain, they owned the content, the hosting, the ccbill account, I was just merely an affiliate - so to speak. And once they decided to go in another direction and not renew our contract, I was left with no income from all the hard work. Live and Learn. It works both ways. All parties involved in this will bounce back, if they have any intentions of staying with the adult business.

well that is the whole thing
basically Teela is reduced to being just an affiliate of her own site the site uses her name on the whois etc etc she has all the legal risk and its her nude pics and videos and in the end she is just an affliate Nifield doesnt have to worry about his mother seeing naked pics him or being recognized at the mall etc etc

Tommy, I followed you until the naked pics and being recognized. I dont think anyone put a gun to her head to pose, thats her choice. Im with you on the taking the risk and responsibility of the site and things of that nature but if she were worried about being noticed by neighbors/family/friends maybe being a featured porn actress may not be the wisest of career moves. She needs a sit down, with or without a lawyer and hash out a contract that will be beneficial to all parties involved. Just my opinion.

Nearly a year ago Teela/Denis were given alot of good advice on this board and on at least one other. As far as I can tell they chose to ignore most of that advice. We're now seeing the consequences of those choices. But that's water under the proverbial bridge at this point.
What I find most disturbing in this whole ordeal over the last few days, regardless of who is or isn't being cheated, is that the actions taken have been with total disregard to existing affiliates. Once you open an affiliate program and ask others to promote your product then anything you decide to do in regards to that product must take into consideration the effects it will have on those affiliates. As for being seen and recognized, no sympathy here either. That comes with the territory. |

I'll throw my two cents in here, just because, well, because I've got two cents. First, it seems like a big mess between Teela (Melissa) and her roomate (Dennis) and Reilly. I don't think it's all that difficult to determine who the "players" are in this situation. Teela is the girl in the movies, Dennis is the guy in the movies, and Reilly is the person who was originally supposed to get 20% of the revenue. As for who was posting as Teela, yep it'd be nice to know who you're talking to but not an utter necessity. Their business problems are just that, their business problems and not really my business.
As for the website, the members section is open for all to view so the folks that signed up are not getting screwed because they can still see what they paid for...so what if everyone can see that right now. Teela and Dennis, Reilly too if you're still involved...hope ya'll all work it out to everyone's satisfaction. When ya'll get the site accepting new paying members again, I'll be glad to promote it in my amateurs section: http://debauchery.com/nudeamateurs.htm PM me here, or icq me when you're ready, if you're interested. Good luck to all of you. CJS Last edited by CaptainJSparrow; 2007-12-13 at 12:36 PM.. |

I have been screwed out of a 20% percent deal myself and it sucks. Not taking one side or another but it does hurt.
And, I used to do business with a couple of different women. They both had husbands that never posted or talked on icq. When I ran into them at a show, neither woman knew what I was talking about when I discussed business. Of course their husbands knew everything Having the fact that I was lied to about who I was talking to ended all business relationships. If you can't trust who you are talking to, what about them can you trust? |

what sucks is that the webmasters who are sending traffic are giving their surfers free access to a members area.

I agree Bob..webmasters that were promoting them heavy, are losing out in the long run. Wasted bandwidth for zero return. Im sure as anyone is concerned this program is dead.

There was no skype back then. It's kind of sad...unless I speak or meet the webmaster that claims to be a woman in person, I assume they are lying. Well, not everyone, but a lot.

Maybe I was a bit harsh, but producers deal with problems like this all the time. Of course it's not always like that, which is why I made the comment about being 'generally speaking'. |
