Who Drops Old Links Eventually?

Just wondering who expires listings, out of curiosity. I leave mine up permanently as long as they don't 404/redirect, but I can't recall everyone else's policies.

Cleo 2010-07-03 11:12 PM

Mine are forever or until it goes 404, no dns, or redirects to a parked page. The parked page ones are a bit hard to catch sometimes.

Forever here too :) until 404, redirect, expired or lack of reciprocal

SheepGuy 2010-07-04 01:07 AM

If I don't get fucked over they are up for life.

Nymph 2010-07-04 10:18 AM

Same as all the above for me too.

Danny 2010-07-04 02:00 PM

Listed forever here as well. Just had to remove about 5% of the sites for 404s at PH. Some added in 2001=(

I just deleted 2,200+ (I had 22,000 so that's 10%) links on smiling pussy links. Did a linkbot scan after more than a year, turns out a few of the guys that have been submitting to me for years just quit the biz and let there domains expire.
Also deleted 200 or so category linktrades of sites that just didn't excist anymore...

But other than that links should stay up for life...

note to self: run the bot more often :)

Sven800 2010-07-08 02:02 PM

Mine stay up until they go bad.

ShirleyP 2010-07-11 03:06 PM

Planning to keep mine up for life, or until the URL goes 404 or they drop the recip link

Well, now I have one expired domain with a few (a dozen maybe) freesites on
and as it looks right now I´m not sure it is back up before the weekend
because the provider is going to send me my log in password through snailmail |banghead|
but I´m going to call them tomorrow and try to find a faster way to do the renewal

What can I expect from you linklist owners? do I get banned for life or do you just delete or disable the freesites in a case like this?

Banned ? for what, for domain that expires ? Nah.
For redirection more likely but not expired domain.
It's just happens sometimes.

I simply disable sites in question and wait few days till they come back live, if not I just send him a email with question: what should I do (wait more or delete).

In my case the email is the same domain :(

The galleries I send to your Clitpass are not affected by this (well, the email is the same)

Thanx PC |thumb

We are the same too...they stay up forever until they 404, 302, etc.

Only time we ban is if it looks like the submitter did the redirects, ,or took off links/recips as opposed to a parked because the domain sold.

We run a link bot about every other month to try and weed out the bad ones.

Well, it´s just a handfull of freesites maybe a dozen, but I´m more concerned about my trustability, as I choose to be in "lurk mode" I´m not that known among the linklist owners, I´m not a "bad one", just a bit stupid :)
