PO box For Domain Names

Just got a junk email from a DNR I use to try and sell me new .UK domains. It included this line:

Quote:
Using a PO Box? The registry no longer allows the use of PO Boxes.
Do they just mean you cannot use a PO box for .UK domains, or have the rules changed for ALL types of domains?

It's something new for the .uk domains.

You must have a UK street address, but you can still use privacy services.

i read something similar awhile back and the way i understood it, it applied to all domain names and it stated that they could force you to forfeit ownership if you didn't have a real physical address. and of course you can still use privacy service. but that would be a stupid reason to have a domain taken away, especially a developed one. personally the only things that ever really were a bother from the address associated with a domain was the bullshit mail that some people think will earn them my business. hell, im probably more likely to do business with a company that just took my email from whois and spammed me than someone who actually clogs up my physical mail box whether it's pobox or not.

Thanks for your answers. One thing is a little bit scary:

However, when I first started out I was running both straight and gay free sites and what I did not know was back then the minimum age in Britain for gay porn was 21. So although the youngest models my gay sites were actually 20 years old, I would still have gone to jail as a paedophile. The law has since changed to 18 for everyone, but I am still constantly nervous of accidentally breaking the law and I don't want my street address easily available.

Ironically, until recently I only ever bought .com and .info domains. But a couple of months ago I started a teen sex blog based in the UK so bought the domain http://teensexinnorfolk.co.uk/ for it. My first ever .co.uk domain!
