Cannot get Penis Bot recip to work

Okay, so I am a dumbass.

But when I try to save it, the only option I am given is as a bmp. If I try opening it in Photoshop and changing the file extension, it will let me save it as a jgp or gif. (I've tried both)

However, when I do that, all I get is the layer with the stripes. It will not switch frames.

Suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?

In IE you do a right click on download link."save image as" to dir where you want it. copy and incert the info in the form to the left of itinto <td></td> thats the cell in the recip table I center it also

I was being an airhead. I was clicking the download link, opening it, and *then* trying to save the gif.

When I followed your lead, it worked perfectly.

Selena, looks like you got your problem resolved but I thought I might just point this out.

"When BMP is the only choice for saving pictures from the Web" is a known issue in IE. In most cases, deleting your Temporary Internet Files will resolve the problem.

Those fixes don't work for penis bot for some reason. I can go to any other site on the net but his still has that bmp file saving problem...

It DOES work in Netscape Communnicator 4.8 but not in IE 6. In fact, I have never had it work properly at penis bots place using IE over the past 2 years or so.

You are correct, neither of the solutions in this article - http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;q260650 - seems to fix the problem of copying PenisBot's recip.

For some reason this doesn't work for the Penisbot recips..

I just drag the image to my desktop, but I use Safari to browse. Can't Windows uses use Firefox or another browser to grab the image?

I do use IE for doing reviews and since IE does not display bmp images, at least not the Mac version, I decline sites all the time for having broken images on Penisbot. I also see a lot where it is really a bmp image but they have changed the extension to gif which naturally also does not work.

Definitely works for me.

Make sure you are right clicking and selecting SAVE TARGET AS not save picture as.

In that thread you directed me to... it worked for 3 people who used the function "SAVE TARGET AS" but not for anyone who did... save picture as.

Yes, that does work. I tried it a bit ago. No idea why the images don't tho.

I just go to the category page I'm submitting to, find a site that's using the recip I want and save it from there. Kind of a pain but I don't use image recips much so it's ok.

Hello!
From time to time we have some issues about reciprocal buttons saved as BMP files. I don't know , why, may be some our mod_rewrite rules uncompatible with IE image downloading process? Don't know.

I asking all webmasters, having troubles with PenisBot recips use:

1) Text recips, we allow them if you use them right (double linking + "porn" in link text)

2) Save our standard buttons from other free sites listed in PenisBot. Also you can just use our main big button, it's allowed in all niches.
