need some ideas on how to promote our affiliate program.

Our affiliate program has been live for over a month now.

I've submitted to some directories, made some posts on the forums, submitted press releases

What else can I do to promote it?

I've thought about having some type of contest of a sort on GFY or something.

I guess the other thing we need to do is start an webmaster referral.

What else do you guys suggest for promoting our affiliate program?

Any improvements we should add to our program?

You should have a link to your program in your sig. It does not bring in a lot of affiliates, but when I was running the PP5 affiliate program I got a few affiliates from my sig here and on other boards.

I also used to run a WM site, which was handy because when I started the PP5 affiliate program I was able to 'recommend' it there and got a good few sign ups.

However if you want a good number of affiliates you really got to pay for advertisements on WM sites (see Jim's post for example).

Also, you should have a link on your affiliate page to your site, no good webmaster will sign up with a program without looking at the tour of the site he/she will be promoting. And believe me, from experience I can tell you that the sort of asshole that will sign up without thinking about it is NOT the sort of affiliate you want (unless you want to spend hours every day answering stupid questions and explaining why every click that they send you does not result in a sign up).

And you could also do with a lot more info on your affiliate page about the program. Most importantly tell the WM why you are different from the rest. There are 100s of sponsors out there, why should they sign up with you rather than someone else?

free heroin with all sign-ups i heard does the trick lol J/K honestly i dont know why anyone would do the gfy contest promotions do you really want a bunch of cheating one sign-up a month WM's who probably signed up themselves to get a bottle of booze lol. Honestly, right now it's a tough market i don't know what to tell you, but advertising at a place like this and similar boards with real WM's is a start and even more participating in these type of boards with your sig available, but not spamming and getting people to know you, right now 10 affilaite programs a day seem to be opening, so i know it has to be tough, but WM's with real traffic and longevity also want a program of the same so over a few months or more show that and i bet you get a lot of good affiliates. If they see you are a good guy and honest and looking to work with them then you will get them might take some time......honestly i exagerate by nature, but there real does seem to be at least 5 programs a day opening up. Most important give people a reason, have something different and make some noise that goes viral

good luck!

I'm with ecchi. I've found the tour after finding the banners and manually entering your site's url in my browser. Nice girls.. it's realistic material

The website is fast (ow its online now) so that's a good start.

I would like to promote your site, currently I am building a TGP system like comus & Autogallery SQL and I need some sponsor partnerships so that I can put them in the automated listing module, all that you have to do is put in RSS feeds on all of your gallery's.

Having just done what r3n3gad3 said and been to the banner page to find the URL, I have a couple more suggestions for you.

1. More 'odd size' banners. If I am looking for a new sponsor, having a good selection of different size banners that I can easily use in various site designs will make that sponsor a serious consideration.

2. Remove the dead banners. Showing a broken image makes the webmaster assume your site will be as bad, and have a 0% retention rate.

These days I wouldn't even bother with affs. Most affs with large traffic are happy with their current sponsor/s & would prolly only do prepayed traffic deals.

The old 20/80 rule still applys as well. that 20% of your affs send 80% of the sales. Meaning you'd be wasting ur time most likely running board comps and crap like that, ending up with hundreds of yoyo's buggin you daily.

Imo I'd rather spend the add budget on inhouse traffic and inhouse grunt workers then comps, but that's just me.

Sad, but true. If I created a paysite today, I would work its promotion on my own. Maybe set up an affiliate program in the background just in case a friend or big traffic guy shows interest. I could see catering to the GGs and DDs of the world, but not the UWs.

Frankly, looking at your site, it does nothing for me. Northwest Wet Spot? The name doesn't spark an interest. Are we looking to market only to the unshaved inhabitants of Washington and Oregon? Typically, when one uses a locale in a porn site name, it's an exotic location or place known for its unusually attractive women. When I think Northwest, I think grunge, flannel, and a need for better dental hygiene. (Much the same that I think about where I live, as a matter of fact.) Nothing sexy about that.

As stated above, you have missing banners and broken links in the webmaster area. That doesn't serve to create a good first impression.

Get to know the webmasters that promote your niches. Getting to know the ones with actual traffic is even better hehe

some good info here

especially about just promoting yourself...

affiliates are not dead just happy with what they are promoting why should they start again with a new site/programme..

we have picked up a lot of affiliates since we started 18 months ago 95% of them never make a sale.. but stick at it they also lik eto see a site/programme stick around and not be here today and gone tomorrow like a lot of sites are.

We have only just in the last month or so started picking up good affiliates who actually send sales

ironic as we were just thinking of doing it all differently.. changing our site etc

its hard work

I think there's alot more significance to that statement than meets the eye.

It takes times to develop and grow an affiliate program, build up promo tools, etc. Also, most affiliates with big traffic aren't just going to jump on the bus and toss all their traffic at a program they just signed up for. If stats are good they'll keep bumping it up over time.

One word of advice to independent sites running their own program. Add promo content regularly, and email your affiliates to let them know about it. I get enough email of this type that I rarely have to go out and hunt for promo content for my TGP's. (I've rec'd 3 this morning alone)

Alright guys, first I like to thank all of ya'll for all the suggestions.

I've revamped our affiliate page...check it out

http://www.wetspotcash.com

Next couple weeks, I'll create more banners (of different sizes) and rss feeds. We've been emailing each week to our affiliated with galleries and updates.

Server problem have been fixed, just needed a restart for our apache and fixed some mysql permission problems.

We've also been talking to some of our top affiliates and giving them some extra content. We have an affiliate who converted our asian (3) FHGs at 1:200 off of only 1 text tgp and it's not even the hun! Sold about 30 memberships in about 2 week.

We're also going to buy some ad spots on a couple WM sites and hopefully that'll draw some new affiliates.

We've taken the suggestion from babymaker and thought of a new promo deal. Top 10 affiliates gets a free heroin! yah!
