WTF Yahoo???

I just tried to visit Yahoo on Explorer 8 and got a "There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website has expired or is not yet valid" error. I am used to this from minor sites, but Yahoo has let its security certification slip????

Then I tried to access Yahoo via Chrome, and got a weird message telling me that Chrome could not access the page "because your computer's date and time are incorrect". They are right, the date and time is wrong, but why the fuck does that prohibit me from using Yahoo?

Oh, just realised that the "security certificate not valid" error was probably caused by the fact that it was not valid on the date the computer shows, but that does not explain why after working that out, Chrome then refuses me access because of the inaccurate date on my computer. (The date is wrong because I am using an old laptop that hasn't been booted in years).
