A Reason Not To Go Deep Underwater

Polychaetes, or bristle worms, are a class of deep-sea-dwelling annelid worms. Thanks to a new macro photo gallery of them on the Telegraph's website, it's safe to say bristle worms are also TERRIFYING.

It always amazes me that we know less about our oceans, and put less importance on them than space and space travel.... whereas they may hold the answers to many of our mysteries and problems

Only because the Centauri Republic hasn't made contact with us yet and given us wormhole jump gate technology.

It's similar to what we're doing with rainforests (and eventually will do with Antarctica). The answers are all there, but by the time we really do anything about looking for them we'll have already lost most of them due to how we treat the planet.

Actually the symmetry in the chaos is kind of nice in the way the scales will balance themselves this way. Or at least it is if you look at it from far enough away to take the whole "we're poisoning ourselves while eradicating the antidotes" out of the picture.
