Suggestions for getting traffic flowing to a new blog?
Besides doing link trades and finding places that list blogs.
(Both next on my list) I do have this fantastic Google Listing for Shemale TS Top. Any suggestions? |

other than patience? Be picky about which directories you sub to ... not all that list blogs are created equal, especially the ones who require recips.
LOL at your description in the SERP

Buy blogtraffic? And/or plugins on a lot of sites. You must use epass, most people in adult do it.

1a. Blogs are about content and the ping crawls like originality and highly searched keywords. 2. Point a couple of links from other sites in its direction that are relevant. 3. Link Exchanges 4. Top Lists (very underrated for blogs) Those are the four that I use. Other options are.. 5. Scripted traffic exchanges through plugs with other sites (I use this on one site but it is time consuming) 6. Scripted skim trades if you are into that - I suspect you are not. I do not use them on any blog. 7. Directories: Be careful. It depends on the niche, the site structure of the directory, and the deal. Most want an index page link on a blog (which is a labor intensive site) and three weeks later you end up on the eighth page of a category that has no backlink value (a very inequitable exchange) - but you are giving away an index page link that draws down your own PR. There are some, very few, that are worthwhile depending on your niche, unless, of course someone is treating their blog as throwaway traditional free site (which simply discards the value of having a blog format - might as well build a free site) 8. Buying Links - I stay away from things that can get one banned at SE's no matter how difficult it may be to detect. People, in this case sellers of links, get greedy and do things to get discovered. If I know the person well (and I have done it a couple of times) and their methods, I might make an exception. 9. Social Bookmark Sites: This is not a core strategy, but, should you have extra time, bookmark some posts at the SB sites that accept adult. You get a backlink and a tiny amount of SE juice. 10. All of the methods used to get traffic to other core, destination sites: linking from galleries, landing pages, building deep directory free site/galleries that build backlinks that ultimately give some juice to the root domain/sub-domain index page, etc. Best wishes with the blog.. Thanks for the nice words Cleo. It is like everything, though. However much one knows and learns, it pales by comparison to what we do not know or have yet to learn.

All in One will allow you to optimize your posts for SERPS, simple to use and available from the wordpress plugins site. Pinging will allow you to ping your posts and site when updated without spaming ping bots. There is a bit more involved...click the following link for download and detailed instructions: http://www.pornoclast.com/2009/03/18...inging-phobia/ Oh, and make absolutely certain you have permalinks enabled without the #'s messy urls. If that does not help, I would like to know about it... |

I would totally ignore the so called blog directories , their traffic is minuscule. I submitted my blog to LL that I submit fs to and got way more traffic.

Don't forget toplists too can be a valuable source of regular traffic if you pick your toplists wisely!

This list was posted on another board as no-recip directories. Props to the original poster, and make sure you check them out before posting to them.

Agreed. Most blog directories, not all are like that and are owned by one of about three people. The ones not in that network are much better and run more like traditional link sites.

I've never saw any gain from submitting to blog directories. Tommy's Bookmarks listed my blog in his new blog section and is sending traffic but other than that one... nothing exciting.
I have been talking with a friend about trying to build my blog traffic back up. He suggested posting plugs to your link exchanges and it will help build up your link exchanges. |

I thought I had posted in this thread. I haven't, so let me add my two cents. I've had the best success by building traffic networks where my sites support each other.
I don't build one or two sites in a niche, I build 5-10 and let them feed traffic to each other. I use those sites to feed traffic and provide one way back links for similar websites in the same niche, usually sites built using what I've learned from the earlier sites. You filter traffic from less spefic sites to more specific, say teens to big breasted teens to a page or blog on a specific teen model with big tits. You can add as many layers as you want but always filter down. I don't submit (with rare exceptions) to other people's directories, toplists, link dumps, etc. I build my own. I view my sites as but one link in a chain. They all work together. I use more general or less niched blogs, directories or SE pages to index them and feed some more traffic. That way the niche sites stay within their niche. Last edited by BadWolf; 2009-05-30 at 12:02 PM.. |

Social Bookmark sites for adult don't seem to send much traffic. Sure you're getting spiders crawling your sites but you're usually way deep in the archives. Submitting to a link list might be the best way to go vs the social sites.

So far link lists have been the best source of traffic for this testing my first testing the blog waters blog.
I'm already getting some decent SE traffic too. I'm also pleasantly please to see sales coming from it and at much better ratios then TGPing and Free Sites generate. But I can't imagine what it would take to run a big network of blogs. |
