Free Site Newbie Question

I wasn't sure where to ask this one, and since it's probably been answered before, I thought I would ask it in the newbie section.

I've never created any freesites before, and I've looked at a couple, so, I have a bit of an idea............... but, when they say that the freesite has to be in the same folder, does that mean that the entrance page, the galleries, etc, all have to be in the same folder? Like, I couldn't link the photos to an existing gallery on my server?

Also, does that mean that the links on the freesite have to all go into the same folder as well?

index, main, gallery1 and gallery2 in one folder. The pics (or vids) and thumbs just need to be on your server. Some places will allow you to use hosted videos too.

I'd guess that as long as the images are on the same domain, you could link to them. Dont take my word for it though. The linklist owners make the decisions.

I know they dont have to be in a single directory because I've had galleries listed that used seperate image, recip and css directories, but all three were subdirectories of the directory I submitted. It just helped keep things cleaner. What I've found though, is that in the end, its really just easier to put everything in one directory. Disk space is cheap.

the HTML files all have to be in the same folder/directory. I am OK with the images only being on the same domain though.
