2257 v3.0 (New and Improved) & Place of Business Solution v1.0
2257 v3.0
Fixes include:
Release Date: Not before Nov 4th, 2008 I've got a simple solution for record keeping that is a bit gestapo-esque. ONLY the primary producer and the DOJ would know the models identity and v3.0 will do away with the rhetoric, the mounds of bullshit, paperwork, redundant databases, hours of operation and knock on the doors. Let alone the privacy of the model would be out of the hands of all secondary producers. For some this probably would not jive. At least I would be able to go on vacation, take a shower and be able to sleep peacefully between Sunday and Thursday night. The DoJ creates a national registry database for models who appear in explicit content. The primary producer would go to a secure government website enter all the models ID info including legal name, DOB and any alias' (per the new 2257 regs.) along with the documented info be it a US passport, state DL. SSN, green card or military ID and attach a scanned copy of the doc and upload. In turn the DoJ would process, verify the US documentation through the state DMV, immigration and military ID databases (now that the gov't has started to web all the agencies databases) and give out a unique reference ID number for that particular model that can be used by the primary producer to give out to any secondary producers who acquire content. If another primary producer enters the same models info into the registry, the system will give that same reference ID number, so no duplication. A model can have it for her records and give it to another primary producer on a different shoot. The secondary producer would receive the reference ID number as their form of proof that the model is of legal age. If need be for further investigation and compliance the secondary producer would go to the DoJ website registry, register as a secondary producer and can enter the reference ID number and only the models photo and alias' would appear. A new v3.0 225.html page would include the models unique reference ID number next to the model name on the site so the DoJ, if wanting to do a random check will have the corresponding reference number to back check that the content and model are compliant on every web page for US based websites. I know free speech and the ACLU would have a great time with this one but the fact would be only the primary producer and the DoJ would know the name and information of the model. This is certainly better than having 100's if not 1000's of webmasters having a models personal info. Just a thought, I know its far from perfect but with the lack of constitutional regard that the new 2257 takes this would certainly be a better solution. Do you think its a better alternative to what the DoJ currently has in mind? Place of Business Solution v1.0: For those that don't want the monthly expense of an office: Since there has been a boom of home businesses in the last 10 years with the internet and ebay why do some think that with the new Custodian of Records issue by getting a business address that this will somehow "legitimize" the porn industry, more crap. It will only mean more money out of pocket The fact that people can no longer use PO Boxes or UPS Stores as there "work" mailing address doesn't cut it. There are several ways for "Big Brother" to find you, such as site host, IP, WHOIS or the money trail etc... etc... I do not think in the new 2257 there is a reference that the place of business has to have a mailing address associated to it. I think I will comply by listing the physical address and unit number of my storage unit as my place of business. Its available during business hours, has A/C and a filing cabinet, got my cell phone w/ internet access, my laptop, its 5' x 5' on a second tier (need a ladder to get into it) roomy enough for me and one inspector. I even have built in security w/ cameras and a receptionist, what more do I need?

Kids are great, Appu. You can teach them to hate the things you hate and they practically raise themselves now-a-days, you know, with the internet and all

I think you had better read the comments area again. It states specifically that no 3rd party custodian of records are allowed. |

I like the idea of v 3.0, a watermark on each image and for the most part everyone is happy. Well, except for the doj. In the comments section they shot that one down as to costly and time consuming if I remember correctly. The fuckers decided to let us have the burden of cost and time. |juggle|

100% compliant. There have been others stating that you need to be available 20 hours a week and that for the most part unless they plan on doing a shock and yawh campaign of showing up unannounced then its not a problem. Anyone else want to ring in on this one!
