Judge Roberts Confirmation Hearings
Anybody been watching this?
He really didn't have anything definitive to say about free speech and pornography other than the courts have struggled with it for years. |

I suspect he will skate right in. I still would be pissed if I was one of the judges. They should have stuck within the company for a promotion.

Even though some people are getting very emotional about this he will skate on in as Jim said above. Watching is interesting to see who makes an idiot of themselves and see who is showing cards that they may not want in public yet.

Political theater. Turn the cameras off and they would have voted this morning.

It's all theater but I'm a part time politcal junkie and listened to it on the radio while I was working today.
They're all hypocrites anyways....but that's besides the point. |

It is sad that the "best person" for the job is someone with little judicial experience, and strong religeous background, and a very private record on key issues.
I can't imagine that there isn't a single better person in the US for this job. |

That is the thing. Dubya ain't really good at learning from past mistakes. He really does seem to think that he can put it over without any issue, that he can stuff any of his contributors / supporters / daddy's friends into jobs and nobody will complain, nobody will notice (except the horrible liberal media, but we all know they are spinning stuff so they are not important)... he just stands up there with that smug self centered smile and goes on about his day.
Do you know what Bush was doing when the levees first broke? Instead of heading to the area or back to to washington, he went to California for a public engagement, where he picked up a guitar. Nero fiddled. Bush strummed. |

He got away with the war. He got away with sending a million jobs over seas. He got away with raising oil prices. He got away with giving away over $1.2 Billion to Halliburton that's unaccountable. He got away with the highway bill and the energy bill. He got away with increasing the gap between rish and middle class. He'll continue to get away with what ever he wants as long he keeps preaching. |
