Is The NFL Stricter Than The US Courts?
Saturday, October 09, 2004 - RB Jamal Lewis - STATS, Inc.
As rumored, Lewis has been suspended for two games by the NFL after pleading guilty to federal drug conspiracy charges on Thursday. The Ravens' running back, who also was fined an additional two weeks' salary has five days to appeal the penalties, meaning he will be eligible to play in Sunday's game against the Redskins. At court on Thursday, Lewis was sentenced to four months in jail and two months in a halfway house, but he will serve his time after the 2004 season. Nice to see that even though the courts put off his sentence til after the season that the NFL is fucking him a little bit |
