Question about 2257 page
I've seen that most LL have a rule which states that there can be no links on the 2257 page. Why is that?
I can understand "no affiliate links". The 2257 page is for legal information and not for selling. However, I don't see why there couldn't be an outgoing link to a hub or LL. I think that sometimes surfers just stumble across this page, and without an outgoing link it's a dead end. The surfer will just close the page. I usually put a "Return to...." link which goes back to the index.html page. So far I haven't seen any LL decline the freesites because of this. Maybe that's because their recips are on the index.html page. But if the surfer has already seen my galleries, and then clicks on the 2257 link, there's no reason for him to click back and I'm going to lose him. If I could add a link on the 2257 page to my hub, I can keep him in my network of sites. Anyways, I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas on this matter. Thanks. Dave |

I don't see why anyone would have a problem with a link on the bottom that went back to the root of that domain, especially if it was in some copyright text.

Live and learn. And take very careful notes!

the problem is that people put a link back on their 2257 which doesnt go back to the freesite but goes to a hub or whatever, or they have alot of links on it which go to the sponsor main page where all the paysites are listed, i dont have any problem with an 2257 with on the bottom a small link to the root of their domain or an copyright link.
