That reminds me. Only deal with hosts that you find, not the ones that find you.

Good advice UW,
Didn't want this post to become a spam fest. It is back up and running, after at least 3 hours (not sure how long it was out before 9 this morning). I am sending a ticket to Servage to find out what happened and I will post back. Thanks for all the help tjchuck |

See what I mean? The moment you think about getting another host, your host comes back to life. Friggin' internet voodoo.
Now that they are running, you should go through get recent back-ups of all your files if you don't have them on hand. If you decide to shop around for new hosting, you can now do it at a more comfortable pace without scrambling around stressing about your sites being down.

This didn't appear to be a small problem like the host forgetting to plug in a fan: Quote:

I just think of the days, maybe weeks, of pure hell finding and fixing everything that gets broken when you change servers. This keep me from thinking anymore of moving.

Got a reply back and they had a transformer issue.
So basically the question I initially asked is answered by the fact that shit happens, and hosting does go down, but if it is too frequent then it maybe a concern. Once again thanks to all tjchuck |

how long have you hosted with them? how many times have your sites been down in that time? if it is a frequent problem you might want to see about changing hosts, but if it an isolated incident don't change hosts because of one incident.... that being said I recommend that you use my host which is BLAH BLAH BLAH

Oh! I haven't changed since high school and suddenly I am uncool
|
I use Webgemshosting.com and have for a year now after having another host that always had a reason for being "down". I can say that in one year, my site has been down a total of 24 minutes......out of 365 days. Now that says something! Check them out.....
