I played a few of Foxy's vids on the iPhone while at the Apple store and was blown away by the quality of watching a movie on it. I can see guys grabbing their iPhone and sneaking away.

Personally I'll probably use my iPhone, when I finally get one, to watch movies and TV shows to kill time while flying or waiting at doctor's offices.

Me too...I suppose if while waiting the need arises, one could always slip into a bathroom. But to me, it's like carrying a bottle of water. I have a drink before I leave home. And if I get really thirsty, another when I get back.

Jim, as the step father to a soon to be 18 year old boy, all I hear about is - the Zune or iPod Video, iPod Touch, The iPhone or the new Verizon Voyager - it may not be us, those 25-40+ now, but the up and coming soon able to view porn legally generation that will push this media into the "latest boom". I know for me, growing up, at first porn was only on 8mm or reel to reel, then with the advent of the VCR, porn became easier to get a hold of. Friends could pass tapes between each other and not have to worry about it. The ease of use was just a simple rewind and bam you had porn. Then DVD made it even easier. Its all about the ease of use and the hassle of it not be noticable. Now the ease of use will be a touch away. The new phones, mp3 players, media players all have the ability or will have the ability to transfer files between each other...simply, friends borrowing from each other. The key is to be able to get in on the ground level and be ready for when that next "boom" hits.

Do we know of any sponsors working on mobile content? Im sure it will be a topic of discussion at some of the next webmaster events as it becomes increasingly more popular. I can already see the push for the .mobi domains.

Thats just my take on it.

I have never got the appeal either. The only time I ever watch music videos on my ipod is when I am in some public place bored, the last thing I am thinking about it watching some top heavy blonde.

I do not believe there will be a need for separate mobile porn as from what I have seen the mobile devices are coming towards a recognised web format as they get more bandwidth and will become just another way to watch and join standard sites.

My Sony Ericsson phone does the web but like most cell phones it's not the real web, it sucks.

If other phone makers follow Apple and start putting real web browsers and email clients, like is the case with the iPhone, then the phone users will start using their phones like a laptop.

The other thing that needs to change is the networks. 3G is about the only thing with half decent speed but it's expensive and not everywhere. The phones with built-in wifi, like the iPhone, at least have fast internet when around wifi but having a fast network needs to be everywhere and seamless before phone internet really grows.

About the smallest screen that I can watch a movie on is about what the iPhone has. My neighbor had a game/movie/something device that I think was made by Sony. It had about, maybe a bit bigger, screen that I remember being able to enjoy a movie on.

The other thing that may happen is flexible screens. If the screen rolls up into the device then the phone can be smaller then the screen. If the keyboard is on the screen then it gets really small and easy to carry, why carry a laptop at all. Organic LCDs are coming. They can be printed by inkjet type devices on flexible material.

Batteries are getting smaller and higher capacity. Networks are getting cheaper and faster. Within ten years we will be carrying something not bigger then a pocketknife that is does what your music player, cell phone, laptop, gps, credit card, house keys, car keys, garage door opener, and who knows what else device does.

A year ago I had never used a GPS. Got lost all the fucking time. Half the time could not remember where I parked my car. Bought a GPS for the car, never got lost again. Liked it so much that I bought a new GPS that works in the car plus is not much bigger then the iPhone so now I take it everywhere. It even remembers where I parked the car. I would really like it if my next phone also had a GPS in it so that I don't have to carry two devices. The iPhone can already do much of what I lug a laptop around for which is email and a little web browsing.

i've been doing some work since 2006 with a mobile network but truthfully even with the stamped camdollies on their ass, I don't get much traffic that actually goes looking for us after they see our POTD. But it doesn't take me long to get the content together, I get paid every week and hopefully this will eventually lead to more $$.. till then.. Long live men with cell phones.

The only people I know who are making big cash from mobile phones is people who control old media companies, newspapers, magazines etc. They basically get a picture of say Britney Spears from X17 agency where she shows her pussy and send it to a phone if the person texts a short code in.

I seriously cant see someone joining a porn site on a mobile especially when you take into consideration the download costs for the end user.

They already have a Virtual Keyboard
or you can also get a Roll-up Keyboard

A little bit more work on the software and the virtual keyboard could easily be a virtual tablet that combines all into a touch screen/keyboard/mouse/pen. - Virtual Display

I believe that the Patriot Act made it mandatory for all cell phones & cars to have GPS so big brother can find you.

Another thing to consider is that many people is less industrialized countries are more likely to have a cell phone than a "land line" wired phone (and less likely to have a PC) thereby increasing the likelihood that they may get porn from their phone. Also, in Europe they use their cell phone to purchase items. I believe this is big in Finland -- you can go to a vending machine; press buttons on your phone to charge your CC / bank account and then have your product dispensed to you. So ease of purchasing and the availability of other types of hardware is a big consideration.

I used the SD card on my Palm Treo phone to watch movies, from time to time, but you're not likely going to see me wacking off to porn with it! None the less it appears that the under 40 generation wants as much from their cell phone as they can get.

Hey Jim,

Don't underestimate the mobile market. 2010 is only 2 years away but take into account the advances in hardware and software that'll debut by then. Guys and gals have that handheld that's easy to take into the bathroom at work and that's that. I've been getting an increasing number of hits from mobile. Pretty soon I don't think we'll have to modify our sites for mobile as conversion will take care of that.
