Blogable Entries

Nothing helps out your blog like inbound links from natural organic sources. This is especially true when its from blogs you've never even swapped a single link with.

So, if you're interested in drumming up inbound links to articles this thread is for you to post your most "blogable" and interesting articles to.

wrote something everyone should read? wrote something with some real thought and wit?

wrote something you're really proud of?

post it here.

Also check back here for articles worth mentioning on your blog, for when you're feeling lazy and dont mind giving someone else a free plug for doing good

Congratulations, Boogie, on becoming the newest member of the Buddy club.

Just to make sure that we all understand what you are wanting posted in this thread. You want entries similar to: http://www.choponthelake.com/2006/05...-of-googlisms/ not a spammy one like this: http://www.choponthelake.com/2006/06...ld-have-known/

Congrats Boogie.

Yes, apparently so...http://www.badassgirlz.com/blog/2006...june-16th.html

You certainly have a right to your opinion, but why are you blogging about your fellow webmasters? I guess you really are having trouble finding bloggable subjects.

It's actually a good thing....he says something about me in his blog, I trackback and respond in an equal nastiness....builds drama and people love to read about others drama...in other words, it helps keep interest making the blog "sticky"....plus you get some great natural linking which the SE's love....of course, if someone really actually gets pissed then I guess the "fun" was for nothing.

Finally, I get it.

For four years I having been putting forth my 'good ole boy' image in an attempt to get everyone to like me. Now I find that I have been doing it wrong.

Ok, all you cocksuckers, may the bird of paradise fly up your nose.

Does this mean I will be rich by thirty?

Boggie, i'm not trying to hijack your thread as I will be posting on it very shortly, but do bloggers really have this problem?

I ask out of curiousity, as it seems a decent amount do.

I am considering posting 2-3 times a day with decent size posts, not a picture with 2 sentences like some tgp blogs but real posts with very diverse subjects, from hedonism to science and political reformation.

sorry for thinking out loud again

I'm not seeing the fun. I know fun - I didn't sense any when I read his post. The fact that he insulted a blog story that I wrote certainly didn't feel fun to me. I wept for four hours before I was able to leave a comment, in which I called him a prick.

Useless, Walrus described it perfectly. Chop, I apologize if you took my words to heart. If I'm too gentle, I'd get no reaction.

The hardest thing to do as an adult webmaster optimizing for Google is to build natural links - Google is starting to ignore hardlink trades / reciprocals to an extent after BiG Daddy.

One of the reasons blogs do well in Google is they can potentially rack up many organic links to inside pages. But in adult where either text content is thin or we write sales text camouflaged as legit blog post, there's really not much worth linking to. We can run linktrades all week long to compensate, but will that help our sites rank any higher? That's why mainstream bloggers work on publishing either linkbait or linkworthy posts. Some people tell me it won't work in adult; I decided to give it a try.

Since I see useless linking to me in this thread, I'm guess it does generate at least one natural link.

Anyway, Useless, I don't regularly flame anyone on this board, and if I wanted to say shit behind anyone's back out of ill will, I would disable my trackback pings

Oops...well I missed your comment useless. You should have come over to my blog and called me a prick instead I'll go over and respond, but if you comment on my blog instead you'd get a linkback..

Oh, I don't mind you flaming anyone from this board, as long as it isn't me or persons close to me. I'm a full supporter of free speech until it crosses over to that area involving my name or anything to do with me. I'm the only one who gets to say what's on his mind, damn it!

Plus, you should always use Staff, T1, Jazz, or Traffic Pumps in such statements. (Sort of an inside joke.)

Yeah, I get it now. I still don't have a personal blog, just multiple attempts at one, so I'm not up to speed on some of the tricks of the trade. You blogging types teach me something new almost every day.

I think it could work in adult but the culture probably is the biggest inhibiting factor. I think, in the mainstream, many of the bloggers spend a lot of time visiting other like blogs looking for idea's for thier next post and it is natural for them to pick up idea's / trackback to the blogs that help add something.

Adult blogging just doesn't do that. It would have been great for all concerned had any number of people taken sides on your posts, started commenting and trackbacking to each other as well as you and spread the news that you were a .... damn what was it I called you again...

Insufferable prick Oh wait, that's what I called him.

And frankly, I think we should all spend our time selling to the surfer, not trying to see if we can get a rise out of each other with hopes of a link back. If you want natural linking to occur, try being nice. That tends to work, or so I am told.

I was more interested in starting a conversation between our blogs and building visibility than getting link backs, to tell you the truth. I'm not really concerned with selling to surfers either; once I build up some decent traffic, sales will come. I prefer to see my blog as a labor of love, not a marketting tool.

I realize baiting is tricky. I actually couldn't tell if Walrus was being serious or not until I read this thread But then if we used code words the entire thing would feel fake. What other ways can we get more conversations going between adult blogs?

Useless, I'm nice by nature (at least a "quarter" of me is way too nice). But Howard Stern doesn't get his ratings from being nice, and just see yourself posting "sweetheart" instead of "cocksucker" on this board. I've also gotten at least once case of serious link love from casually complimenting a blog I'm hooked on, so I can't disagree with you either.
