I think I'm a sponsor groupie

Or maybe a sponsor tart or even a slut. Every time I come across (excuse the expression) a new sponsor I just swoon and succumb to the honeyed text and promises of free galleries and content beyond my wildest dreams. So I sign up and add to the already unwieldy list of sponsors I'm currently promoting. I'd be very interested to know what sort of sponsor numbers other people deal with on a regular basis. Is it better to concentrate on just a few or to spread your sites out amongst a whole herd of them?

I'm often surprised at the sales I get on links I put up on my network. It seems the surfers will gladly sift through all the krap I find, and pay good money for something I put in just to fill space.

But, money=money

As long as you get checks for sales, that's all that matters.

I *think* I am signed up to about 80-some sponsors. However, I actively promote only a very few. Most will never see more than a link to their paysites or a few HFS listed. That's just how I (hit chest) roll.

Join the club, I'm addicted to signing up for new sponsors, if I don't sign up for a new sponsor every day I'm not happy lol

I'm signed up with around fifty and I try and vary the ones I promote as often as possible, but often find myself using the ones that have done well for me rather than try a new one. I guess that's pretty normal behaviour.
I also get tempted by the pretty graphics and sales pitch and have a (growing) list of about twenty that I'll sign up for soon.
Add me to that slut list.

Over the years I've joined almost 400 programs I only actively promote 6 at this time with an emphasis on my top 3 performers...

I do like to try "most" new sponsors

Think I've got accounts with at least 100, but kinda fell out of the new sponsor binge a while back. Statsremote is tracking the 50+ I actually send traffic to...with the bulk of that traffic going to 6 programs.

I can think of at least four off the top of my head that I have NEVER even had a link to.

My name is Preacher, I have a problem...well more then just one problem, but some of you are well aware of that.

I'm signed up to a shitload too.. a bit scary considering you have to hand out your SSN like it's your phone number ( which I never give.. :o ).

On a sidenote.. anyone signed up for shitloads of CCBill sponsors under the same account, and if so do you have major trouble getting stats for like a 2-3 month stretch? I can't see why you'd want it any other way but when I try'n see signups from the last couple months to see if they're still active, 90% of the time it times out. Pisses me off.. I wait 3 fucking minutes only for it to time out and tell me it fucked up :/. Usually takes 3-4 tries before it comes back w/ anything.

I have 72 in stats remote, but mainly use about 10 of them. I think signing up to a lot of sponsors is ok but you could end up spreading things out too thin and take ages to get paid if you havn't got enough traffic to send them all right?

There's 467 lines on the sheet I use to keep track of the webmaster referral codes for the programs I'm signed up to

I'm signed up for more than 100 but only get regular checks from 5 or so that i push the most. And I'm not signing up for anything new for a long time unless it has RSS feeds and other new cool things.

You talk some of the most understandable chinese I've ever run across

My experience is very similar...which is one of the reasons I've never tried to harvest the dribbles of traffic I have going to a few dozen programs. Some months, the regulars absolutely tank and those programs only getting a few dozen clicks a day pick up the slack. Then again, some months...they all suck wind

So far, May is rockin across the board though...love it when that happens

I'm signed up to promote a shit load of sponsors also, but I only really push three of them. I use links to all the others threw my LL, which is years from making me money (if ever)...

MrYum glad your sales are rocking as mine are truly sucking! One thing I don't get in this business is how to have consistent sales, and maybe I never will. So far I make myself some decent spending money, so it's all good! If I had to depend on this to make a living, I'd be living with the homeless people down in the park...

It's been a very sporadic year so far...a couple of the worst months I've ever seen actually. So, was a pleasant surprise this month started off well. Way too early to tell how it will end, but at least it's a start

Yep, it's hard not to get concerned when the week starts out sucking wind. But, being the eternal optimist I try to be...there's always room for sales to go UP

Oh, as to the getting old comment...get in line darlin...I got lots of years on ya
