Which pays better?
I am in the process of getting my TGP up and running the right way and I want to do what will ensure me the most steady and reliable flows of income.
Can anyone tell me which pays better (50% Commissions) or ($20/$35/$70 per sign up?)

Depends on the sites you are promoting. If they can retain with a good members area, then I'd go for recurring.
But I guess most people have an opinion about this.

Who's paying $70 on a regular basis?
It all depends on how long you think the member will stay active with that site (which is a crap shoot) You could send 1 sign up to a site that has a $5 trial & then recurs at $30 each month. If the sponsor pays $30/sign up, you get that right off the bat, regardless of if the surfer stays past the trail. But, say that surfer stays 2 months past the trial & you're on the recurring option - at 50% that's $32.50 for you. If they stay 4 months, that's $62.50. |

I use both, and with recurring some surfers just take a trial and never paid for even first month. Some have been members more than 6 months. It depends so many things, and you must have some luck also. Different people like different things. One like daughter, one like mother and one like both. One surfer can love the site he signed up, someone else think it's grab.

I've been changing over from recurring to PPJ the last 6 months. There aren't many sponsor sites updating enough to retain surfers these days.

My personal biggest income earner is a sponsor using recurring. BUT, if it was per signup I'd make more money monthly from them easily.
Go per signup any time you have a chance! The only exception is their terms. Some won't pay persignup unless the surfer converts to monthly. Also, if the sponsor has no trial and pays $30/signup but the month charge is $39.99 then recurring might be an option as you'd be guaranteed $20 per sale anyway with a chance for the rebill. |

I think that I will go the Per Sign Up as a good point was made regarding the lack of updates on pay sites. I hope that the site that I am putting together doesn't fall into the category of "Free Sites That Suck". Thanx for all of the input.

What's the terms for the $70? I looked on their page, but all they have is this:
..."Ox Cash agrees to pay Affiliate in accordance with the "Program Details" posted here: ..." with no link to the program details - LOL I did find this link in the source of the terms page: http://www.oxcash.com/programs.htm but that doesn't mention $70 at all - you getting paid $70 by them? |

I don't know because I don't promote oxcash but I'd be willing to bet you need to send 100+ signups a period for 70 bucks. It's probably a sliding scale?

50/50 $20/$35/$70 Per Sign up You can't just choose $70 - LOL Looks like you get $20 if they take a trial membership, $35 if they take a monthly, but there's no info on the $70 I guess I'll have to ask them. |

I prefer recurring. Just because I have members that have been on my paysite since 99. I know how nice that recurring can treat you after a year of steady promotion. I make $200 a month recurring on AVS Premium sites that I haven't updated in years. Plus, I always feel like I'm going to get shaved if I pick pay-per signup. Damn, I wish I wasn't paranoid.
But it does depend on the site. I update my paysite members area with exclusive content I shot myself 2 times a week, and have daily leased gallery updates, so my members stick around.

I think he was asking about sponsors for his tgp. I too have long time members on my pay sites and wouldn't want anything but the recurring that comes with them. However, on sponsor (other peoples pay sites) sites today I prefer PPJ. |

I think you give surfers too much credit If they are on one of the bigger TGP's then yes, but not every TGP has the same quality of traffic & surfers that are on smaller TGP's are just as good as any other surfer

Surfn - Yeah, I knew he was talking about his TGP. I was too. I have all recurring partnerships set up on my TGP also. But it's a niche TGP, so I think in the long run it will pan out. I just get so paraniod that if I signup for the pay per signup they're gonna shave me. Plus I figure if they can afford the headache of paying per signup then their members areas recur enough to make it worth my gamble on the recurring setup.

But I will tell you a story. I first got into this business in late 1998 and when starting out I built AVS sites. I stayed in the biz until early 2002, then quit for a year and a half recently getting back into it. Anyway, long story short, I still recieve checks from an AVS > $100 a month in partnership revenue for sites that have not really existed in over two years, let alone been promoted in about three. That means there are about ten members who stayed over three years. 10 members * $10 payout * 36 months = $3,600 from 10 signups. While this is pretty optimistic these days and you shouldn't count on your members staying 36 months (let alone 3), it goes to show you what is possible at least. If anyone is interested on what AVS was actually honest enough to do this ... it was Netverifier. Take care. |
