Is this Ray's Strong Box or a different product? I was just getting ready to purchase Ray's product on my new server (should be installed tomorrow). This could certainly make me think.

Isn't it a different name now? I thought Ray's product was Stongbox and this is Stongboxxx. Where's Ray?

There's a testimonial from DD on there. Oh, and here are some familiar names ""Strongbox rocks!" Kevin, Linda, Cleo, and Chop have a Strongbox love fest". A couple of the testimonials are links to this board. On their FAQ page, the person who answers the questions is named Ray. I'm going to go ahead and guess that Strongboxxx is Strongbox, but with new and improved additional x's on the name.

Intersting.
I don't get a feeling this is good for Strongbox. I had AdultWebWare installed and the installer never tested the software and it never worked. Other then clicking on menus and getting more menues not a single function of the script worked. Ray has a great reputation but AdultWebWare was POS. |

I was just checking around a bit. A fair amount of text for the Strongboxxx site is taken form Ray's site http://webmastersguide.com/ but neither site seems to acknowledge the other.

Yeah I've gotten quite a few ICQs asking about this.
Paste - Send - Paste -Send - Paste - Send For now, the AWW guys are reselling Strongbox. If things go well, they may end up doing most of the installs and customer support while we do the research and development, which is our forte. |

right I can’t vouch for everyone and I apologize for calling AdultWebWare a POS.
However, that was my impression of what was installed on my server 16 months ago. I don’t know why it was giving error message. I don’t know why a couple of pages were 404. I don’t know why I never received a follow up email announcing the install with some instruction or what to do with it. I can only speculate on those issues and right or wrong we know exactly where that leads. My feelings are installs are serious things with testing and follow up communications as part of the process. No testing means wasting my time. You’ve certainly taken a turn in direction from your email 10 months ago when the best solution you provided was for me to sign up to the VIP mailing list. I’m sure your product works great for some folks but that was not the case in my situation. It didn’t work for me and as far as I could tell it didn’t work at all. My comments on this board are really not very different then comments posted by you on GFY about a competing product quite some time ago and that’s my main reason for being so harsh. That product was installed successfully, came with follow up communication and has been working flawlessly ever since. Obviously your company has come a long way in 16 months. You have phone numbers now. Maybe you respond to ICQ messages and maybe it doesn’t take days or weeks to track you down. That’s all a big improvement but my past experience and impressions still stand until I have a reason to change those impressions. |
