Had to pay what I owed over that court case. Did so by 'phone. The guy on the other end looked up the reference number, read the notes then said he had to check with their legal team first. I'm guessing he got to the bit in the notes where I offered to pay £250, and they demanded more, insisting I paid £155. Oh I would have loved to be in the room when he pointed out to their "legal team" that they were idiots!
I was going to rest this for a while, but Tadpole says it will make me millions so: Puppy News The friend who owns the puppy (or vice versa) asked me today if anything bad had happened to the puppy while he was away. It hadn't and he told me that the reason he asked was that the puppy had seemed nervous of them when they returned. The only thing we can think of is that a few days before they got back his stomach upset got better and I stopped giving him the "no more nails" medicine. But he still hid after every meal. He may have been thinking he was getting away without the medicine because he was too clever for me. But been afraid that now his owners were back they would start pumping the "no more nails" medicine into him again! |

Tell Puppy's Mom and Dad to try giving the "little" chap a treat that he really enjoys and then making a big fuss of him, after giving him any medicine or doing anything to him he doesn't like. I started this years ago with one of my dogs, and have used it ever since with every dog I have. After giving them medicine or applying Frontline I shout "sweeties" and give them each a couple of Doggy yoghurt chocolate drops. The dogs seem to think the unpleasantness is worth enduring for the treats! (yes I know it's bribery) but it works and everybody is happy. |

Wouldn't work. The puppy has sort of adopted their housekeeper as his "mother" because she is the only female in the house (it is a "The Puppy Has Two Dads" type family), and she has responded by making one hell of a fuss of him. She sneaks him treats all day long (when I am looking after him it is not unusual for me to open a bag of treats in the morning, then when I go to give the dogs their bedtime treat, finding the bag empty - or sometimes even that the bag I opened is empty and a second bag is half empty also). So any extra treats will not have the effect you are talking about, because they are not really that special.
