My HD took a shit...

Man, I was in a groove. I had another site all ready to go- just waiting till 6PM so I could submit again.

Went to the gym.

Came back and BIOS cannot find 1 of my drives. Of course it has to be the one with the OS on it!

I forgot to mention last time I had comp probs (what - 8 weeks ago?) I discovered mice had been using one of my HD's to rest on as it had SHIT and piss stains.

It's been making some fucked up noises, but it did that a while.

I lost all the sites I built, my PNG artwork, etc...wasted a good 1.5 hrs building that site and collecting recips this AM.

Glad I went to the gym 'cos I have no energy to get upset.

I think a new system is needed in the near future.

Yes and if you type very creatively they will dispense two different kinds of intoxicating fluids.

Actually I've seen mouse waste in Macs and they never ran right again. You could get them to run after the board was dried but they got flakey.

You do seem to have a lot of computer issues but then so does many of the people on this board.

Hope you had the drive backed up.

I do? Didn't have a single issue since I installed the system 9/11/2001 until I 1st posted here a couple months ago I had to redo everything.

I had to redo everything simply because I never needed to run XP in Safe Mode, and was just too impatient.

When I did try to reinstall it, I had issues 'cos I am running a CPU higher than officialy supported. That being the case, ya need to Disable SSED instruction within the BIOS.

So, I was impatient then I had a lapse in memory.

Didn't have jack shit backed up. Though, I did burn all important installable programs to CDROM.

I had mice this past Winter. Kept feeding them shit to kill them.

But they kept coming through a wall that is pretty hollow. My computer back faces that wall.

I had 1 slot without a slot cover on it. Ooops.

I'm somewhat glad to get the other drive out. It was slower than this one.

XP is installed and running updates now.

They have a new methos for installing them. It's a bit more methodical and thought out.

Ya know- I still had all the CD's out from when I did the last reinstall...so everything is pretty handy.

This system will do until Half-Life 2 comes out.

The mice were eradicated end of Winter.

Little fuckers. With I still had a pet python so I could feed them alive and watch them slowly die.

tiny,

The other HD doesn't even seek when turned on. The bios cannot find it.

I'll survive. Just got all the updates and FireFox + extensions installed, so it's feeling like home again.
