what makes a link list profitable?
I hear that a small percentage of link list traffic comes from free site recips but I gather the links from the free site submissions help for SE traffic?
As far as targeting traffic, is this the best way? My link list should be up soon and I'm trying to see my available resources for traffic. SE traffic link list recips free site submission recips bookmarks What other resources should I be looking into?

This is subjective, but in your experience (through your own LL's and oters that you know), how profitable are link lists especially vs. TGP's and other types of sites?

having your own stable of sites to not only list in your categories but also to feed traffic to the linklist is very important imho.
if you dont have enough of your own sites to fill the categories then there is very little reason to do a linklist. the ads and other marketing you do on linklists arent nearly as profitable in the beginning as the sites you have in the database that have your own codes in them. i would suggest thinking of it as a hub which accepts other webmasters sites for a recip more than to think of it as a linklist until you start getting good se placements. treat it as just another source of traffic for your freesites initially. the other reason i discourage folks from starting linklists if they dont have enough sites to fill the cats is because odds are you dont understand the free site model much less why linklists do what they do. i personally think this is the reason we see such odd rules on new linklists sometimes imho |

seciruty_man is right. You need plenty of sites in your database with your link codes. The banners will make some money but not at first. Once traffic picks up especially from the SEs you'll make money from them.
What makes a link list profibable? TRAFFIC, plain & simple. Of course with the traffic you need to still work it. Move sponsors in and out, various banners and still make free sites for it. But unlike TGPs, traffic usually means bookmarkers and SEs with some good trades (non script) going. And it takes time for all that to come in so be patient. sickkittens and one more word get a link script and dont wait till you got 400 and some links like i did, i was under the impression that richard could pull them out of my pages and that was not the case, i had to add 408 links useing copy and paste, the descriptions were allready done but still took me 2 and a half days
and because you just paid for your script dont mean it will be running soon unless you had a script before and the data can be quickly loaded into the new DB then you have to wait for the script to get installed then if your new to scripts as i am then you have to wait for support to get back with you as you should know those people are allways busy then you have to get to know how to work it and test your stuff and ask for more help and wait and work.. so get one now because links free or pay are a hell of a lot easier to add through the admin and all of the nice features you get with it cant be beat and i am still working on mine setting it up asking questions so you can add on a lot of time just getting the script running somebody told me a while back that if you work on it everyday in two years you will be happy with the results and one more thing no body big will list a hub/link list with more pay than free sites so for a good while your on your own as far as traffic goes |

LL are profitable???
Actually a Ton more work than meets the eye... see Ramster post above. More like having a herd of dairy cows. No matter what day it is, no matter what the weather is like, no matter how you feel, you have to take care of it.

I like that Mark, next time I'm off to do reviews I'm just going to say that I'm off to feed and tend the herd.
LL are a lot of work, a real lot of work. They can make you a lot of money but only if you are will to work really hard. Also like all buinesses they take time to grow before they start making money. Plan on spending at least a few years building one up before you really start seeing returns. |
