WordPress help please!
My new install of wordpress is giving me grief if I make a long post. I get the following error:
Forbidden You don't have permission to access /wp-admin/post.php on this server. Short posts work just fine though, and I did try splitting it. I remember hearing something about a server setting causing this problem. Can somebody please help out a damsel in distress? |

you probably have mod_security enabled which might be blocking the 'large' post. Its also possible that you have entered content that is getting hit by mod_security's rules.
did you by chance have the word curl or lynx or perhaps GET in the post?

a quick search on G brings up a few results concerning using the words lynx and curl:

Thanks for the speedy responses!
The words 'lynx' and 'curl' do not appear in this post. I tried omitting the word 'get' and it still did not work. Looks like I should give my host a call in the morning about this mod_security thing. Thanks again! |

Good point!
It was indeed a mod security issue, that my host was able to fix in a couple of seconds. We had the same problem on the old script we were using (dragonfly) before switching over to wordpress. We've got most of the bugs worked out, and this one is even prettier than the last http://www.balloondirectory.com |
