Funny Thing Happened To Me On The Way To The HUN

Several weeks ago I decided to up traffic to my site. I know how to get traffic but so much of it is useless nowadays.

My problem is the less traffic I get the more signups I get. Don't know why but I figure it's due to allowing word of mouth means targeted desired traffic instead of forced traffic or happenstance traffic.

So for years I just streamlined and that was that. So as I said a few weeks ago I decided to be mr smart ass and work on several traffic generating solutions.

First step was getting in contact with fans. Worked great. Tripled signups overnight. Second phase was to branch out and contact more fans. Worked great! Third phase was to work in trade with other webmasters who do nice traffic sites where my niche can thrive and do free cartoon logos for their sites in return for a perm link. So far doing swell! Each step worked fine.

Then yours truly decided it was time to submit to The Hun.

You KNOW where this is going.

Took several weeks but suddenly out of nowhere the Hun listed one of my galleries and the tidal wave of traffic began. It was so overwhelming it got scary. Lucky I have a host who understands or I would have been in megabit hell.

Taught me a lesson! Quite the comedy adventure! So before I go back to driving for mass traffic it's back to 'server school' for me!

If you get a good listing with the hun you have to be prepared for off the hook hits to your server. LOL

So these are your own cartoons that you are posting? If so, the Hun loves that kind of shit, he'll post you a fair amount if you get a server that will take it.

But many a person has lost money on hun listings, you have to work your design and pitch to sell to that kind of traffic.

If you want hun listings you need to be on a server intended for that volume, and pay anywhere from 5cents to 70cents a gig, with the average being around 25cents, give or take.

You don't want to do hun galleries on the same server you have your paysites or good sites on, ideally.

You shouldn't be paying more than 50 cents a gig. If you're going to do a lot of TGP posting then pick up a server just for that. $400 a month will get you up to 3200 gigs and you're all set for thehun or any other listings.

Hmm maybe sponsor host, or hosts like REvshare are the way to go for ppl that dont want to loose money from getting listed at the HUN ?

btw. Does he send confirmation mail that you got listed ?

I don't know if he sent confirmation email or not. I get so much fan mail daily it's a chore just to get through it all. I'm weeks behind on it as it is.

If he didn't that's okay, it's an opportunity just to get listed by him.

After reviewing the stats etc. Just one listing from the Hun can make you in this business if you optimize your gallery correctly.

Don't know yet. It'll take days to go through the stats and data. I doubt it though because it's TGP traffic.

What I've found over the years is it's not the amount of traffic but the quality of traffic.

It's a situation where if the surfer is interested in free porn he won't buy it. So you could get 100k in hits from a TGP and it's about the same sales ratio as 1,000 from targeted/interested traffic.

I've learned that I'll have to tailor my future galleries to optimize this type of deluge of traffic to convert.

It all depends...... I convert steady 1:600-700 with milf on tgp's including thehun....not many listings from him now days thou :/

Those are good numbers considering the overhead. Everyone who joins an affiliate tries to post that on the Hun or TGPs. It can get oversaturated so I figure that's why he won't list them. Even the freehosted galleries with your referral ID.

I have unique stuff. Very niche. It'll take me some time to figure out what works and doesn't but what I've learned so far is:

1.) Do exactly what the Hun asks you to do when submitting a gallery.

2.) Optimize your layout. You either want people to go to your affiliates or to your paysite door.

3.) Don't add extra doo dads and weird ass stuff. Just thumbs and pics and his banner on top and 1 of your banners

4.) Get his rules on changing the gallery if you have to ( i.e. typos and other errors.

Heck, 1:700 from TGP traffic sounds right to me. But you did hit a node mentioning niche specific.

Normal traffic gets me as low as 1:50, highest 1:300

Have to hunt that traffic down though. If there's a cartoon TGP lemme know.

do you build freesites? If so , submit them to my link list http://back-off-bitch.net/link/ . I have enough toon and hentai submissions backed up now to open a complete category for toons.

If your toons aren't too hardcore, meaning no anal fisting and drenching cum buckets, submit them to my tgp too http://back-off-bitch.net.

I may not have huge numbers of traffic but it's mostly ALL SE and the rest is clicked traffic.. and for some reason, the conversions on the site are higher than other sites of the same nature. I won't complain tho LOL

Normal if he or his reviewers like the gallery you get an email in about a week or two telling you that you are being listed in the next 30 days.

I was considering posting to the huns thumbs-up and was wondering what kind of traffic I could expect. Currently I don't have a separet host for tgp submits because I've always done picposts and not tgps and don't get the mass amount of traffic.

Well you can use RevsShare hosting - you'll get unlimited bandwith and space without paying a dime with a restriction to use approved by them sponsors....
