So, I decided to give the porn industry a shot and just launched my site yesterday.

I somehow managed to already get some customers. I have no idea how since I haven't done any advertising for it yet lol. That's why I've come here to pick you guys' brains a bit if I may. I'm pretty much just wingin' it.

My first question, Since my billing is done through CCBill, should I also do my affiliates through them or would another affiliate be better?

Also, what would you guys as webmasters suggest that I do to get my site out to webmasters? Just general tips.

Pretty much anything you guys could tell me to help me get started would be really appreciated because I feel like the site could do well, but I'm completely lost on how to get the word out about it?

Can't seem to find a way to edit my original thread, so sorry for the double post. I want to narrow the scope of my questions a little bit. Since my site falls under a very small niche what type of approach should I take at getting traffic to my site?

It seems like it might be difficult getting webmasters to push the site due to the fact that it's difficult to categorize. So I guess what I'm trying to figure it is what angle should I be trying to promote the site from? Bizarre? Fetish? Just Skinny?

Obviously I'm not gonna get any love from the BBW fans lol. Who are the right guys to bring this too to get the most exposure?

That is for sure a different site. Use ccbill to run your affiliates.

To get webmasters you have to have a site they want to promote. A site they feel they'd make money promoting. Then you have to have tools in place like banners and hosted galleries for the webmasters to use to send traffic to your site.

Getting into adult by opening a paysite is not that easy. The BIGGEST thing about having a paysite is being able to get traffic to it. Affiliates is one way but you have to be able to send traffic yourself. Being new I assume you have no traffic sources and have not done galleries or free sites before? If not it is not going to be easy.

Thanks for the replay, I'll go ahead and set up affiliates through ccbill and I already have a few banners put together but I'll work on getting some galleries up too.

Getting traffic definitely seems to be the hard part. I know the site has potential to make money since it has already started to with very little traffic and no I don't have any traffic sources.

All I really know what to do is list the site on search engines and advertise on newsgroups (which I'm having problems posting to for some reason). The affiliate thing is all new to me, so I'm trying to pick up what I can from here.

Once I have built a good set of tools for webmasters what would you as far as 1) convincing webmasters that my site is worth it for them to promote and 2) getting my site on to link lists etc. Also, you mentioned that I need to be directing more traffic to my site as well, do you have any suggestions other than what has been mentioned on how I might be able to do that?

Element - I think that the site DOES have a place out there - just the opposite of a BBW site. I have seen it before, not MUCH of it but it will sell. One thing id advise is to flesh out your tour a bit. You should have a landing page/warning page then at least 1 or 2 pages to draw th surfer in rather than just a page that says JOIN | MEMBERS | SAMPLES - let them know what you have in regard to content / how much you have in regard to images or videos /how often they can expect the materials to be updated, etc. Also on your sample page you have a scroll @ 1024 resolution, you may want to trim the size of the samples down to be able to accomodate those with smaller screen resolutions. The index page fits fine then the samples are much larger.

Dont be afraid to ask - you'll learn plenty here and will receive advice from otehrs much more savvy than myself.

Ok thanks. I just recently changed hosts and the flash causes the site to load alot slower so I'm redoing the main page and I'll try and work in your suggestions. To be honest it was kind of thrown together. I ended up developing the site myself because the guy I payed to do it took my money and split =/ I've been kicking down doors in Baghdad most of the last 4 years so web design isn't really my thing but i'm learning lol.

I'm glad I found this place at least. Otherwise I think I'd just be sitting around holding my dick and wondering what the fuck I'm supposed to do next.

Just as a little update -

I've redesignged the site based off of feedback I got from people here. Feel free to take a look at it and tell me what you think. Also, thanks to everyone who helped out. I really appreciate it.

I've set up my affiliate plan and I invite everyone to sign up. The sites only been up a week so I don't really have any hard numbers yet, but I'm getting roughly 100-200 uniques a day, with an average of 3 sales per day. The only advertising I've done is by posting a few small sample galleries on imagefap and posting another gallery to one of the newsgroups. In my opinion the site definitely has potential, now I just need some real traffic.

looks a lot better sweetheart. My suggestion would be to make the URLs bigger on your sample photos. They are too easy to cut off and still have a good picture. Then when the guys pass around the pictures they took from your tour, and they will, they will still have the url and be little advertisements for your site.

I agree the tour could be more exciting. Is the content only pictures? Movies are sure more popular.

Your asking webmasters a lot, taking a chance on an un-proven site. If you could get some traffic going and have some numbers to show it converts.

As for traffic.. simple.. find out where your customers hang out..

None of the fetishes I know can seriously harm but looking at those girls I have no doubts they are plain sick. I bet all of them suffer from bulimia and/or anorexia and as far as I know both may lead to death.

More people die each year from illnesses due directly to lifelong obesity than Anorexia and Bulimia, but Anorexia and Bulimia kill much swifter. Anorexia and Bulimia are extremely complex illnesses and very difficult to cure. It takes more than diet and exercise. Anorexics control their eating because they believe that they are heavy. Obesity is not the inverse. Heavy people are not eating because they (wrongly) think they are too thin. There are many cases of obesity which are due to mental and physical illnesses, but generally it's just because we like to indulge. There are millions of heavy people who are doing just fine. There isn't a single Anorexic or Bulimic who isn't a very ill person.

Like Mateusz, I don't think it's a very good idea to ignore someone's mental illness and qualify their delusion by telling them that their withering body is sexy. Though I am not assuming that all those models are Anorexic. They may be naturally skeletal and heinous.

Nice niche. I'd be a little wary of all the anti pro-ana sentiment floating about, but as noted above the BBW kills people, too.

The key to retaining members once you have them will be regular updates of preferably custom content.

Video will be key, too.

Keep it all with CCBill untill you get enough cash on hand to Branch out.

My only other suggestion is to remove DISNEY.com from your EXIT link, never do this... Disney objects to us pornographers sending them traffic.

I would suggest you link to yahoo. http://news.yahoo.com/ untill you can find a none adult sponsor to link your exit traffic too. Make sure you make money from this link.
