You can post in "Link Trades" section of this forum and ask for a trade.

What to stay away from:
1. Blogs with questionable content
2. Blogs with hiden whois info (like yours) might be questionable

Who to trade with:
1. People you know
2. Blogs with similar content to your blog
3. Blogs with good content
4. Regularly updated blogs

I'm just wandering, your first blog post is dated one and a half years ago. You don't have any link trades - why start trading now?

WooHoo! I learned some things. Sorry to jack the thread but Johnny may I ask why hidden whois is a bad thing? No mine is not hidden but I am wondering if I should add this to my list of things to check.

Simple...would you do business with someone who wouldn't tell you their name or tried to hide their location.

It's not neccesarily a bad thing. It's just a test to see with what kind of webmaster you consider trading with. You might be comfortable with doing business with anonymous people.

Thats simple, look at the archive dates. Novemeber, December and January each have one post during the month. Then things skip for 9 months with no posts and then you have a blog that is feed by RSS feeds from that point on. He simply is reviving an old blog he had lost interest in with RSS feeds.

Nothing wrong with that, just answering your question.

You are undoubtedly about to get some very sound advice once the bloggers wake up or get home from work or blogging.
I post here only because to me as a newbie your question about what to look out for struck a chord. I basically asked myself the same question.
I can only tell you what I do as a new person to blogging. You will soon receive even better advice on how to find link trades and probably on how to check them out.
The first thing I look for is can I find the link trade section. Doesn't seem to do any good if it can't be found (I could be wrong but I don't think so).
Second thing I look for is content. I am not a link list reviewer or tgp but some content doesn't fit my view on porn and legality or porn and porn.
Last thing I do is to peek under the covers of the blog and look at meta tags and keywords.
I am pretty sure there are even more things that can and should be done but this is where I have started.
