RSS FEEDS does any boday actualy use em?

RSS FEEDS are great, but does anybody actually bother to use them!?
I mean the user/customer whatever, has to cut and paste to get em to work and I know that might seem like an easy thing to do but some surfers really don't know how to that!

No body I know uses RSS feeds for anything else, so is it just bods in the internet industry using them at the mo? Or is any body actually making money out em?
I'd be interested to know

ta.

My site has an RSS feed that is made available to end users via the Feedburner web interface. I actually notice traffic that comes in via Feedburner so somebody sure is using it.

From a webmaster standpoint, yes, they are used very much. There are even sites popping up that feature sponsors with RSS feeds to make them easier to find for those webmasters looking for them.

From a surfer standpoint, I don't know of the numbers but I am sure there are many people subscribing to various RSS feeds. I think Fire Fox even has a RSS reader. I doubt they would have went to the trouble if there was no demand. Nor would you see those little Orange RSS buttons everywhere.

Last I checked, one blog had about 150 people subscribed to the feed. My other blogs around average in the neighborhood of around 50 or so.

Since RSS feeds are #1 traffic source for my blog, and I'm making money off this blog, than it's safe to say that RSS feeds can make you money.

As many have mentioned, RSS feeds can make you money. What's even more interesting is that you can turn any web page/resource into an RSS feed. With a little screen-scraping you can extract the description and sales text you've written on freesites you've built and turn them into a blog post each. RSS feeds are not really about blogs, but about moving and recombining web data with flexibility

Adult RSS feeds are primarily used to publish content that appears static on sites that surfers visit, such as blogs. For example:

http://blog.webcams.com is ran completely by our blog RSS feeds.

You can run a blog using say 5 or 6 sponsors' RSS feeds and never have to touch it other than generating trades, etc.

They can also be used for dynamic non-blog post content such as:

Model profiles

Online Models

Both of those are generated using only RSS feeds along with a custom made parser that is available in our affiliate area for everyone to use.

I have tons of blogs that people use the RSS feeds. Also, I automate the updating of a lot of blogs with sponsor RSS feeds. I also have websites that I have a perl script that parses the XML of the feed to contuct sites out of feeds. RSS feeds are very much in use.

Keep in mind that it takes a while before the sales starts to come in.
Usually low traffic but quality

Regular surfers use every imaginable traffic source and many browsers now have an easy way for the surfer to add an RSS feed with little hassle. IMHO, if you create a feed, ever more important to write a good title and description that will get them to click.

I have seen a couple of adult webmasters using my feed agregator that pulls in and stores feeds. If you like, check out www.newstopica.com

i am do very well with this site, runs only on rss feeds... avg. about 15-20 sales a month doing nothing but adding feeds as the sponsors add them to their programs... so far I am running 154 feeds... those feeds with images & well written descriptions do the best

Yes they get used. I have a site that is populated entirely by rss feeds -- as do many people -- and it does almost as well as the sites written by professional writers.

Readers do not subscribe to the feeds on such sites though, but they do to the sites with interesting posts. Most of them via my.yahoo.com so it helps a LOT if you have a "Subscribe to my.yahoo.com" button up.

Most surfers do not have to copy and paste anything, most times they just click a chicklet and thats about it.

Well, I have one blog that's running on 99% sponsor RSS Feeds only (just a few handwritten posts) and it turns out pretty well for me. Definitely great for SE traffic, so definitely very useful for webmasters.

About surfers - well, like DJilla already said, they are really easy to use nowadays. I use Opera and even in that older version I'm using it already has a very easy to use built-in Feeds browser. So I'd say they'll get even more important as they already are soon and all sponsors who don't have them should go and add them in no time if they don't want to be a back number!

But do people subscribe to RSS feeds on sites that are 100% rss feed driven anyway? Seems like not to me.
