Interesting Peoples Court Yesterday
So this guy had exclusive pictures on his website and someone throwing a party took one and printed it on fliers. The owner of the picture sued and lost because he did not pay the money to copywrite the picture.

And yes, I am stuck watching the judge shows. Kind of a trade off for my wife to watch shows that I want to watch

I saw that. I watch Marilyn every morning (unless it reruns). She didn't seem to be bothered about porn. She is just finishing up now as I type this.
I switch over to Judge Joe next |

What caused her the most amazement was that she stereotyped us as a bunch of babbling idiots and his conduct in her court proved to be just th opposite.

I seen that yesterday as well and I thought it was amazing the court felt he could not prove ownership with out a US copyright,
Though the guy did say he would sue the actual one who stole the photo and created the flyer. Yep Surfn, he conducted himself well in court, I thought too. Ben |

Yeah, I was actually screaming at the TV, "That's wrong!" He would have lost anyway since he was suing the wrong person but, I found it odd that both her and the lawyer on the street said you need to pay for a copyright

Kids are great, Appu. You can teach them to hate the things you hate and they practically raise themselves now-a-days, you know, with the internet and all
|
Moral of the story: Don't take copyright cases to the People's Court.

We have the same problem around here. The judges, no less the cops know the laws. I once went to family court for support. In my defense, I offered to pay about 10 times as much as the judge ordered but my Daughters Mother said no just before court. Anyway, my lawyer told me that no matter what the judge said, it meant nothing until the appeals court looked at it. The judge actually took my VA disability into consideration. Nobody can touch that and I tried explaining it to him but he said he never heard of such a thing.
Here is the worst part. They ordered me to pay so little, I asked the judge if I could pay more when I could. He said yes and it was in the court documents. So, I paid the child support people the 10 times the amount the judge ordered like I wanted to in the beginning. But, my Daughters Mother never got anything extra. When I asked the child support why, they said the judge said I could pay more but never said what they should do with it |
