link list stuff
Does anyone have a list of linklists worth submitting freesites to ? I have just finished my first freesite and since Im submitting by hadn Im looking for 10-20 linklists to submit to.. I already know of link-o-rama, richardsrealm (couldnt submit there, clicked the button and waited for 20 minutes, nothing happened) and cleo's (I keep clicking on "click here to submit to my link list but no form will show, only the rules?)
are there a few other worthy linklists I should consider ? I really want to keep my submits to a minmum..like 20 or so so I want some good ones instead of a bunch of medium\crappy ones |

wow, is it normal to take like 15-20 minutes to complete a submission ? Over at greenguys it took 2 minutes, at richardsrealm it didnt even complete and tommys-bookmarks took 15 minutes sharp. Im on 768/256 so it cant be my side..do they really receive that many submissions each minute? Some of the submission forms seems to be fucked up too...giving me "cant find the page" etc. (smutgremlins)...damn its annoying

No thats not normal.. you arent exaggerating are you? I have never had a problem with any of the three linklists you just mentioned. Some of the big ones take a little longer than normal, from time to time, but thats like 2 minutes tops. |

I wouldn't jump to conclusions, submitting a form is equal to transfering no more then 2 Kilobytes over the internet. Transfering & Proccessing 2 kb of ASCII should take just a few seconds over any connection speed (even 56k), Even for a very busy server. If you had troubles submitting to one link list you could think the problem is not on your side. Since it took you so much time to submit to 3 sites !!! To me it looks like there is a problem on your side. |

Almost every week, someone has a problem with a Norton product on this board.
If it isn't blocking images, preventing forms from being submitted or blocking SSL it's something else. IMO recent versions of Norton are a little over efficient. When it says "Internet Security" on the box, they ain't fuckin' kidding!! [edit] Just a thought, but have you tried using another browser like Mozilla with the firewall on? last night i tried submitting a site, and about 50% of the linklists i submitted to did exactly as lordaron described.
i think i figured out what was causing it. from what i could tell richard realm's database seemed to be having problems (i couldn't load any pages hosted under the db.richards-realm.com subdomain), therefore i took a wild guess that all the linklists using his blacklist were affected as well. this morning it seems to be working fine, so i'm almost certain that this was the case. |
