no your are not making a mistake, there are enough linksite owners who will reject you if you use a text link like you mentioned, alot of linksite owners dont like the "check or click here for more bla bla" if the paysite name isnt mentioned in the text link.

Please feel free to go right ahead ... but do keep in mind that the negative advance is a sharp edge that can cut you deeply if you slip the handle.

I'm going to try a little bit of negative advance on my next freesite and in a couple blog posts, thanks for the tip Simon.

No apologies needed. I know submission standards are getting tighter, so it wouldn't have surprised me much.

Sodo,
I am not very active in freesite game now. But when I was a regular freesite submitter I used to get most of my sign-ups from the index/warning page. During those days LinkLists ruled the search engine results for almost all major keywords and were getting tons of traffic from Google. Many of those surfers who come from Google have no idea about the structure of a freesite. They click a link on the LinkList and expect to see porn. When they hit a Sponsor Link on your warning page and reach at the paysite they are more likely to get sold. On the other hand bookmark surfers know where to find the free porn and they will ignore all your sponsor links and hit the Enter link and go to gallery pages. Now let me give you couple of tips as a past freesite submitter.

You need different sales approach on index page and on gallery pages. On index/warning page, you need place a custom banner (you can also choose a pre-made sponsor banner if they are good) or place some teaser pictures (some one already mentioned it) along with good sales text. The idea is to grab the fresh search engine traffic and lead them to sponsor site.
If they hit your Enter link, they probably know where to find freeporn. So on gallery pages you tease and warm them up with your pictures/videos and sell them. Build the gallery like how you will build them for a TGP/MGP. You know how hard it is to convert to those freeloaders from TGP. Link List traffic will convert better.

If you are using two different series of pics/videos on the 2 galleries, then place best one on the first gallery. If the surfer hit your second gallery page then most likely he is not going to pay for porn. So on the second gallery page you must have a prominent link which will take the surfer to your hub where you can show him more of your freesites. So you got another chance of selling him.

Always use one main sponsor on your freesite. Place the secondary sponsor ad on your main page so that if the surfer hit a back link after viewing the second gallery and look around for more galleries on your "main page" you can show him a different paysite on the same niche which he might be interested.

-Neo

PS: All the above tips are from my experience and are not hard and fast rules. Other might have different opinions and thoughts.

Simon's example is a classic that works well. I've used it in the past with good results.

For those wishing to improve their sales skills, here's an article that describes the 4 different types of personalities of a potential buyer. It's a real estate article but the principals apply for almost any type of selling.

If you can understand them just a little, it's easier to understand why you will get sales off certain pages (index, main or gallery).

Hi All,

I believe I can post my results now, Unfortunately I will be kinda comparing bananas to potatoes or oranges or orangutangs!

I changed to a strategy that did work 5 years or so back.

The only strategy change was to make it absolutely clear that the surfer went to a paysite, this reduced click throughs dramatically, which I expected, but unfortunately it did not generate a single signup. I made about 10 sites using this strategy, here's a couple of them to give you an idea of how I tried to make it absolutely clear that they were going to a paysite:

http://www.timeforcunt.com/cuntlickers/

The reason I'm saying that I am comparing bananas to oranges is that I used a different sponsor this time around.

They could still produce signups and catch up, but right now it just does not seem to work anymore and I am a bit disappointed that this sponsor has not generated a signup yet, my total stats for them(not only using the new strategy) is: 0:2748

Time to think of a new way for me, thankfully I get a few signups here and there with another couple of sponsors.

Kind regards
Sodo
